Advice please, vegetarian plans

I want to lose weight.
I am a vegetarian.
I have 3 children.
I work unsociable hours which vary from week to week.
I am on a very tight budget.

those are the facts, I'd love some advice, I have tried following the slimming world plan before without going to the groups which worked quite well but I wasn't working quite as much and had more time to plan meals etc. I have looked at joining slimmingworld online, but it is expensive, I have looked at local groups but none of them are on a friday which seems to be the only consistant day I get off work. I need a plan which includes quick and easy food, which I can maybe share with my family, sometimes I start work at 6.30am and won't get home till 10pm and up again the next morning leaving me very little time. Should I just try out slimfast, which I can take to work with me, or should I join ww online which is a fairly reasonable price, is this easy to follow?

If slimming world worked for you, even when you made it by your own, I think it would be great to try that gain.
If you choose other program you will have to lose time learning how that works, you may have to spent money with products, aplliances, books, etc (and you said you're on a tight budget) and so on.

Do you have some time during weekends? If so you can plan and cook the meals in advance. You even can spend time with your children, asking them to participate in the planning and cooking;)

Yes you can do SW from home if you are motivated enough. To be honest I don't think you would get much more, if anything, from online membership over coming on the SW board here.

If I were you i would think about setting a good example for my children and go for a healthy eating option, so either SW or WW if you really want a formal membership.

Hi,

I'm a vegan mum with a busy life and a TIGHT budget as well. And I do SW without being a member now.

If you know the way it works, and still got your books I'd say do that and stick with the SW community here - 'cos some support helps!

You can make economical meals that (depending how easy your children are to feed) you can share with the family, just let them have extras you don't have yourself.

Good luck with it

Thanks guys I think that is a good plan, i've just found a free branded foods book on ebay which will hopefully help with quick meals. Wish me luck.

Hello- I am new to all of this, but just started the Exante Simple Solutions Diet today. It is 1 shake, 1 soup, 1 muesli bar and 600 cals of food. That might be a quick and easy answer for you? ie. in theory you wouldn't have to think what you were eating for 2/3 of the day. I am finding it a bit tricky, but I have never dieted in my life, so know nothing about calories. The Exante stuff is fairly expensive, but it looks a lot cheaper if bought through e-bay. I am not 100% sure I am going to stay on it yet, (have just bought 1 week's worth) as there is nobody else on it on Minimins (they are all on the much stricter 600 cal version).

Good luck...whatever you do
