Am I doing something wrong?

:cry:Morning everyone :sigh:

Well I've been on pro points now for around 5 weeks and all I've lost in 3lbs!!! another girl I'm doing it with has lost like 12lbs! :( when I used to follow the old plan I would normally lose around 5-7lbs a month :( but this just feels ridiculous, we have a weigh in club at work and I've been thinking the scales are wrong, I stick to my 29 points, I sometimes (not always) use my extra allowance and I've been exercising!
Anyone have any advice before I lose my mind and give up? lol maybe I should try different scales? I can't go to classes cause I can't always make the same one every week :(
Help!!

I wish I could answer you but I am in exactly the same boat!!! My friend I go with too is losing a lot more, but then again she is on more pp a day and has more to lose than me so that might account for the changes - is your friend a similar weight to you?

I did read a really interesting article though the other day about the pp system and why it's slower to show losses on the scales, though it's a healthier loss. See here The Weight Watchers Pro Points Plan: Does It Work?

It helped me a bit when I was feeling really down about things this week. This week I have decided to use ALL my points - all weekly and daily as the week I did that I had my best loss of 2.5lbs ??? I weigh in on Saturday, my own scales show a loss but then they did last week too when I lost half a sodding lb!!!

I'm in it for the long haul, I am going to give it another month-6 weeks and average out my losses then and decide if I want to stick to this or go back to Discover.....

My loss was slow so I decided to take bits of pro points and discovery plan to make a diet that suits me. Ive decided not to use my weekly allowance and just use my 29 (am slightly flexible with it and if I go one over a couple of days I dont worry). Some people will disagree with this but I point bananas as 2 points, but all other fruit I keep at 0pp.
I was going to the gym 4/5 times a week and working out hard, did aerobics one night a week etc and was always soooooo annoyed when I only lost 1lb! The pain wasn't worth it even though I know I was losing inches as I wanted to see the number on the scales go down. I now go to the gym 5 times a week and walk four miles and I'm sure it is the main thing that has improved my weight loss. I was working out too hard and not eating enough, by doing the walking my body seems to cope with it. Try and mix the diet up a bit and see what works for you x

Maybe portion size - I know you're not meant to measure everything but maybe weigh stuff once just to visually SEE what it looks like.. I nearly collapsed when I saw what 30g of cereal looked like!!! I was having more than double in my fav bowl!

Drink plenty of water - dull but true.. it can flush out all the toxins especially when you're exercising...

Sleep - sometimes being over stressed and tired can slow your metabolism down.. even if you just slowly wind down in the evening .. might help...

Eat your maximum pro points.. its designed for you to work eating them all.. if not you will be under eating and again your metabolism will slow down...

with exercise, you need to vary your routine, if you walk a mile every day, your body just gets used to it and after a certain length of time its not challenged.. so change direction, head up a hill... jog for 30 secs... walk in the pool, your body will react differently and burn more... I recently started walking in the pool and the backs of my legs nearly killed me after the first session... just from the water resistance.. I think you're right .. just mix it up... and its best to lose it slowly (tell that to the summer holidays!) and it does depend on how much you have to lose.. people with less to lose tend to really have to push harder... people with lots to lose tend to drop larger numbers quickly and then slow down.. That article is v v interesting! Makes a lot of sense and reassures me as my weight loss is slow but the idea it's fat and not muscle helps settle me.

Thanks everyone for the replies! I'm going to try a few dif things next week, like having smoothies for breakfast, and soup for lunch etc and try not to eat as much toast, sandwiches for my lunch :) I'll let you know how I get on! I'm not going to the gym this week and see if that makes a difference and I'm going to eat all my 29 and 49 points and see if it gives me a good weight loss next week. I'm going on holiday in 8 weeks and I'm desperate to get a stone off by then and be as near to 9 stone as possible!
