I had a vivid dream last night that i cheated, not just a sweet but a full blown binge. I know it was a dream but since waking up i feel angry and disappointed in myself and i cant seem to shake that feeling:(
I have weigh in tonight and im nervous about it already (3lbs to my 2 st lost mark) and now i feel like i won't have lost anything.

Has anyone else had dreams like this?

Yep! I had a dream early on in my diet that I had a full-blown roast beef dinner at a restaurant. I paid £50 for it and it didn't even taste very nice!

I woke up feeling not only that I'd cheated but that I'd paid way over the odds AND the grub was yuk. It took a few minutes to realise it HAD only been a dream but the feeling of cheating (and being ripped off!) took a bit longer to shake.

I think it's quite a common phenomenon ao don't worry - you're perfectly normal :)
PS
Well done on your achievement so far!

Oh yes - I scoffed loads of biscuits in my dreams! Of all the things for my brain to choose subconsciously!! Why not fish and chips or something really yummy? lol

Don't worry - you'll get used to it lol - then the dreams will stop! Well, they did for me anyway!

Yeah - Wish they didn't though ... it's the only bit of 'legal' scoffing I could do!! ;)

Hi, at the beginning I had a few like that, I accidentally found my self eating chips and apples that had fallen into my shakes.

I felt guilty too and confessed to my dreams at my meeting. It didn't affect my loss though.

I hadn't had any for weeks and then two nights ago I dreamt that you had to have one Big Mac and a Cheeseburger every day on Development!! (I start next week) Glad that one isn't true!!

Have a great weigh in,

Claire

i used to dream of food and eating every few days when i did CD. never dreamed any foody dreams b4 SSing or since I stopped. I used to dream of icecream and cakes etc. Im not even that mad on them but in my dreams they were the most wonderful inventions ever and always tasted heavenly lol

I was going to say "in your dreams..." DOH!!!!

Dreams are fine so long as you dont make my mistake and allow them to spill over into reality, then it REALLY is tough!!

I too used to dream about food and cheating, I think its our subconcious jumping in when we are powerless to stop it. We are all using very powerful tools, this CBT and TA, so it is bound to have some effect mentally on us, isnt it?

I am the same! When I was on LL last summer I was always dreaming that I had accidently eaten....it was always the same that I forgot I was on the diet!

One in particular where I was fruit picking wtf?! And I popped a rasberry in my mouth without thinking then started gagging as I wasn't allowed it. I used to wake up panicking that I had eaten something all the time hehe - Just shows the tricks our minds play on us :)

N xx

I have dreamt about eating too, and it did take all day to shake the feeling that I had cheated. In fact it was a far worse feeling than when I have actually cheated since! Even worse I woke up feeling really sick and that lasted all day too!

It certainly won't affect your weight loss unless you were really eating! One of my dreams was that I ate a banana, someone at work asked me if there were any in the house and I did check when I got home that there wasn't one missing!
