Saving calories?

Hi everyone. Another question :).

Were going out for a meal with friends which I know will be quite calorific. How do you handle this? Do you eat minimal all day and exercise lots to try and contain it or do you reduce your calories all week. I'm on 1200 per day but earn about 200 from exercise which so far I've been using. Do you just hope these balance it?? X

Personally, I'd do both - try to save a little every day and eat quite lightly on the day, but not so little that you're starving at the meal. If you know where you're going, see if they produce nutritional info to guide your choices...

The other option, particularly if meals out are rare, is to eat very healthily throughout the week and then really enjoy your meal out and not worry about dessert! :) Good luck, and enjoy you time out

I just avoid wine, usually have a gin and diet tonic instead to save cals. I usually try and get just a main also, my mates aren't very supportive so I usually just say I had a big lunch or whatever so they don't try to sabotage my diet!

But you could not eat all day then order exactly what you want within reason! This is probably a bad thing I suspect but I would rather save my cals and get something nice than order a salad :(

That is one of the benefits of a calory counting diet - you can save up calories, do up and down days etc etc. There are few rules other than sticking to a predetermined average intake overall.
