Hello!

I wanted fitness DVD recommendations?

I'm currently using the wii fit but getting a bit bored of the areobic activities now and until I've dropped a couple of a dress sizes I'm not happy to swim or run outdoors (of course, I am walking out doors now)

Advice and recommendations please.
I know people rave about the 30 day shred, but anything other than that?

Thanks

the biggest loser dvds are really good i think, hannah watermans body blitz is pretty good too

I do the davina ones and I got jordon for a pound and the results are really good. It's passed on ta boa (sp) so lots of kicking and punching but the toning and abs stuff work quick and are fairly easy to do

I love the Davina DVD's - particularly power of 3. She is vert natural and not all celeb - plus she'd had 3 kids like me which gives me hope!!

Everyone raves about Davina but I find her really annoying! I use the 30 day shred also so I would like something different.

I like the sound of Hannah Waterman's dvd but I might try and buy it second hand on ebay or amazon because I try not to encourage celebrity fitness dvds (especially when they usually put all the weight back on again! ).

Yes I've tried Claire Nasir's DVD.
When it started I was like "ohhh...interval training...this will make me sweat!" and I was not wrong!
I did the warm up...and then I got bored. You do a routine once, and then have to do it all over again! It's way too repetitive for my liking. And in one of the cardio sections you do CONSTANT knee lifts over and over again and by the end I wanted to hang myself with my skipping rope! It made me sweat but I don't think this one will be seeing the DVD player again for a while.
I'm sticking to Davina's body buff/power of 5 and Beachbody's turbo fire...and of course the goddess that is Jillian Michaels!

I quite liked the repetitiveness of Claire Nasirs dvd! I'm not very dancy, don't have a lot of space and can't do complicated routines, so it works for me!

I'm using Mr Motivator. :D Yep, extremely cheesy, but I like it. (Plus I like looking at the fit guys at the back! :p )

O.M.G I remember when me & my pal used 2 do mr motivator bums legs & tums in my living room when we were about 12 lol!

Haha :D I found the DVD, and decided to get it.

I first saw his stuff when we did the video at school for PE... thought it was OK, so decided to get it on DVD. :)

I have a whole host of different ones.

Joanna Hall - 28 day total body plan
Joanna Hall - Drop a size for life

Dont know who the next three are by but I got them in Sainsburys for about £4 each and these are in 10 minute sections
Calorie and carb burn
All over toning
Yoga for beginners

All three Jade Goody DVD's

All three Pump it up DVD's (ministry of sound)

All of them are good, I like a bit of variety

You should try DDR too, the video game that you dance to. You can track how many calories you burn and how much time it took you burn the calories.

what is the 30 day shred ?

It's a DVD by Jillian Michaels, the Lady Trainer from American and Aussie Biggest Loser. It has three levels of difficulty and each section lasts 20ish minutes, Consisting of various exercises in the way of 3 Minutes strength, 2 Minutes Cardio, 1 Minute Abs, Repeat.

I did it for 6 days and suddenly had noticeable arm definition and felt stronger. However I decided that I wanted to concentrate on pure Cardio until I get a bit further in my weight loss journey so I have switched to her "Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism". Haha it's still a killer but not as many people on here seem to have tried it. It is fabulous as you don't need any equipment. I have "No More Trouble Zones" by her too (Slight fan :D ) but after sitting and watching bits of it I decided to wait till I got to level 3 of the 30 Day Shred before attempting it as it looked wicked tough.

Anyone else given any other DVD's of Jillian's a try?

I have just ordered Clair Nasirs.

I have Hannah Watermans that I used quite a bit. I bought Debbie Rush's one too. it looks good. I am going to try it for the next few days while I wait for Clair Nasir.

Cant wait to get started now...

Nymple I have those three of Jillian's too, and love them! Actually 30 Day Shred is my least favourite, the jumping jacks hurt my knees and so I'm always out of the running for a day or two if I do that one. Hence I don't.

I love Banish fat, boost metabolism, and I love how I'm managing to do it better and better. =) I've also done the No more trouble zones and would encourage you to try it, it's not as tough as it may look! I can manage most of it now, and you can see my weight there.

I struggled with the 30 day shred at first but was chuffed with how quickly my body seemed to change after only a few days doing it.

I've only done the banish fat one a few times so it's still a bit of a battle.

I've been a bit disheartened by my losses since doing the shred though. Figured I would stick to cardio for a bit before restarting the shred or trying trouble zones. Haha jillian has kicked my butt and given me the bug at the same time so not stopping :D

It's nice to know someone else is giving them a go though. Have you noticed increased losses since starting doing them or have you been doing them since the start?
