struggeling if to start SF

Hey.

Over a week ago I got almost all the answers I needed about SF, and yet I'm thinking about it all the time - I want to lose weight, and I know it's gonna be tough, so why not using a total food replacement? the only problem is that SF is one of the only option I can receive in Israel.

So my questions are:

1. DOES IT REALLY WORK?
2. people saying it's filled with suger - how is it not hurting the diet?
3. I don't want to do the entire 3-2-1 with bars becuase it's too expansive every month, so I'll be doing this:

Breakfast - shake
between - snack (instead of SF snack i'll find something else for 100 cals)
lunch - 600 cals meal
between - snack (apple)
dinner - shake
between - snack (again, instead of SF snack)

this meaning I'll be ordering only the shakes without the meal bars or SF snacks - will it work the same way?

and finally the biggest question - if I really stick to it, how much weight can I lose per week?

thank you!

Yes it does work, ur plan looks fine and u can expect a loss of 1.5 -2lb a week but big losses have been reported. It depends on ur weight and body.

One thing i will say to u is that if ur very active every day ( i assume u are as ur in the army) you may need to add 1 or 2 more snacks if the losses slow down after a few weeks, as ur body will be in starvation mode (this happened to me) as its designed for people who do minimum exercise.

All i can say is this forum is great for any questions u have.... it may take a day or so but someone always gets back to you.

Good luck!

You dont need the SF snack bars - really 2 apples and some grapes or a banana would be a better alternative anyway.
It works because their plan is around 1400 calories a day - this might be too low for you - I use semi slimmed milk so have more calories as I dont think its a good idea to stay at a set amount for a long time, I'm not sure this plan is ideal for the long haul, but all I will say is give it a try and see how you get on. xxx

Hi.

thank you both for the answers.
I already ordered two cans of shake for the first month and waiting for arrival.
1400 cals isn't a bit too much for a diet?...
I weight like 265 pounds today and in order to get to a good BMI I need 2 lose at least 65lb, so 1.5-2lbs per week is not really helpful, becuase I want to lose it quicker.
I know that in the end of a day, "diet" is not stop eating in order to lose weight - it's also learning 2 eat better, to eat healthy, to eat smart, and educate yourself to stay and maintain the way you are once you lost the weight, but before I reach that point of learning, I need and want to lose weight fast, and then before reaching my goal weight i'll start learning to maintain - I've seen people here that lost this amount of lbs in like 3 months, so it is possible, the question is, is it possible with SlimFast?

and one more question - instead of 1 apple, can I buy some other healthy bars (like granola or something like this), which is less then 100 cals?... or should I stick with fruits?...

well it's not what I'm looking for the long term thingy, but I do want to see some fast results quick to give me a big push to continue...

I think I have to agree with rowan here, this isn't the right diet if you want quick, dramatic losses. Like the others have said.... On SF you can expect to loose 4/5lbs (maybe more) in the first week or so and then it'll level out to about 1-2 lbs a week as your body gets used to it..... (In my opinion a more healthy rate to loose wieght at!)

You say 1400 cal as to many for a diet???I disagree for the SF program. You wouldn't want any less than that. I actually find if I try and cut back too much my losses are smaller and when I take full advantage of my calories my results seem better (strange but it's true... And I'm sure others will agree)

As for meal bars.... I never have them any more, I find they make me constipated (plus I can't chew them with braces on!!)

Snacks can be anything under 100 cals..... Fruit, cerial bars, even the odd packet of low cal crisps! I tend to have a banana, marmite cerial bar and then a packet of skips or another price if fruit throughout the day!

Good luck with what ever you choose to do.

If you want dramatic weight losses and less calories to have which in my opinion dont think is the greatest as have done myself and then put all the weight back on and believe me it messes up your body is the cambridge diet. It's just shakes and soups and will be having around 400 cals a day working yourself up over a course of weeks. For an example of weight loss my friend who is only 10stone 9 lost 13 an half pounds in 1 week, which yes is great but now her body can't handle more than 600cals a day no carbs otherwise should puts weight on! It's up you but that's another option. Good luck with what you choose xx

The diets like cambridge arnt suited to people with very active lifestyles in my opinion. Im pretty much inactive and any slight exercise whilst on cambridge made me feel light headed and dizzy. Even just going down 2 flights of stair and to the garden to hang out washing was difficult! These are things you have to take into consideration.

Builds - you said youwere in the Army ???? in which case you ave a very active job and your body needs cals just to survive!!! If you eat anyless than 1400 then your gonna do some damage to your body!
