I did my first bit of exercise yesterday in quite a long time!

Oh dear! My thighs are killing me! Every time I get out of my chair this morning I feel the need to groan lol

I only did 20 minutes of kettlenetics and was knackered ~ show's how unfit I am!

Got a rest day today and then got to do it all over again tomorrow!!!

Good for you- well done on that first step

Make sure you are warming up/down properly and stretching after exercise as this will help with the ache the next day.

Think of the benefits of this- looking better, feeling fitter, getting leaner.....living longer!!!- a few aches are well worth that

Well done! It gets easier, the main thing is to keep exercising but to build it up slowly. Also, make sure you drink 2ltrs of water a day, especially as it helps to repair the muscle :)

Although I ache today I feel really good as I've finally got up off my bottom and done something! Felt it was the right time as I'm managing well with slimming world and needed to step my game up!

I am drinking lots of water and I did the warm up and cool down on the dvd ;)

Good luck to everyone with upping their fitness too

Well done! I bit the bullet and refracted exercise properly last month, this month I've started to jog for the first time ever in my life, my fitness is substantially improving, so do keep it up :0) well done again x

well done i had a session with my PT on sat and im still in agony and also going to boxing/kickboxing for 1st time tonight !!!!!!

I started the couch to 5k programme yesterday - my legs are killing lol!

I am sure in no time at all, we will be exercising with no pain :)

I need to get back into exercise, haven't done any for approximately 1 month now and am dreading the acheage!! On the other hand this thread is kinda getting me hyped. This could help people get motivated. What is kettlenetics by the way??

Kettlenetics is a 4lb kettlebell that comes with 5 dvd workouts, you swing the ball and lift it up and down while doing the exercises. It's quite knackering lol but I did enjoy it

Aches & pains are gone today but I'm doing it again tonight so they may well be back tomorrow lol

Sounds fab exercise. Where can you buy it?

I've been meaning to buy a kettle bell for some time now as it takes up alot let space than barbells/dumbells etc. Well done for taking the plunge by the way! I miss how refreshed you feel after a workout. I havent pulled my finger out yet but I may well get started tonight! Thanks for the inspiration..

I've just been out for my first jog in a year!!! I used to be a very keen runner, but had surgery on my neck 4 months ago & was off sick for a year!!! I would try & keep active by powerwalking with my dog, but the pounds have piled on ......hence SW & now jogging again, as Im now happy my head wont fall off my shoulders & the metal plate wont pop out !!!

Wow can't believe I'm being an inspiration - I feel great that a hardened couch potato can get up and do something and inspire others to do the same - I'm even more determined to keep it up now! And if I can do it anyone can ;)

they have a set in tescos with dvd on offer at the moment cant remember the price been meaning to get one may get one tommorow

After a while, it'll stop hurting when you exercise, and then you'll want the pain just so you know you're pushing yourself! :p

My thighs are still hurting after running 500m for a bus at the fastest I've ever run (seriously, you'd have thought the bus was a giant burger with large fries and a vanilla milkshake!) and a bit of bedroom body magic... And that was on Friday! Walked 12k today, what am I gonna be like tomorrow?!

That did make me chuckle :D

After my first 'proper' swim (only managed 14 lengths, i used to do 100) in years i got up next morning and could barely move. I was so grateful i live in a bungalow as i would never have made it downstairs lol. 3 weeks later i am up to doing 30/40!
Good luck :) stick with it and a nice steady gentle walk might loosen you up a bit!

Bee x
