Does a LLC have to be..............

Hey fellow LL followers,

Does a LLC have to have followed the plan and stuck to management?

Or are they purely a franchise that you can purchase... I know with SW and WW you have to have lost so much and kept it off....justt intrigued whether it was the same case for LL....

My LLC didnt mention any weight loss of hers so im just wondering

LL is a franchise or people to purchase, however the training is quite in depth and the LLC s do have to have a period of abstinence and CBT as part of it so they can relate to their customers.
My LLC has never had a serious weight problem and at first I was a little uncertain whether she would relate to the issues I had with weight and food. I needn't have worried - she recognises things in me that I didn't know about myself. I thinks she's great.
From feed-back on here it does seem to vary quite a lot.
I couldn't have lost all my weight without the excellent support from my LLC.

Its only my first week and so far she seems really lovely...gave me a big hug today when I got off the scales

I've been to 2 LL groups and both of the counsellors are big. Prob size 26 or bigger. Both have never mentioned their weight or LL experiences. I sit there wondering whether LL as a company should try to ensure their counsellors are good role models in their weight as well as the info and cbt they give you.

Yes i do agree with that, when I went for my initial information session my LLC was very blazzay(cant spell) and it was only that someone popped in to exchange some packs that I actually signed up.
She actually sat with me for a few minutes and told me how much shes lost in a few months and it was inspirational...alot nicer to speak to someone that isnt just trying to sell you their product.

Saying all that my LLC did seem lovely at my first meeting and My new group members seem fantastic, so im sure ill get much support from all of them as well as my LLC

Funny you should say that but I was meaning to post something similar about my LLC. She is a lovely lovely lady but I'm getting more and more concerned about the level of her commitment to the whole LL concept. I went there yesterday to get my packs and have a chat with her and her husband took me to her house (they were officially closed yesterday).
To my surprise she was sat on the sofa having the biggest pack of crisps I have seen in my life. She is not a small lady but over the months she has put on even more weight and after what I saw yesterday I can see why!
I just find it a bit weird. Shouldn't they at least try to practice what they preach?!
The counselling is also quite poor and tbh I get more help and support from this forum than my own group!
Anyway. I've decided to change my group and try to give this another go as I'm too close to my goal to be changing my LLC now.

Although my LLC is not overweight, she doesnt practice what she preachers either, so im concerned as the weeks go on that I wont get enough from her in the way of motivation, but my group seems wonderful so fingers X'd that will be all I need.

This forum is wonderful and im so glad I found it so early on, I feel its going to be a lifeline for sure

OMG Magic, that given me the biggest laugh I have had in ages. She must have felt absolutely mortified when you caught her in the act... Hopefully that will give her the motivation to get back on track (and perhaps you could invite her to minimins?!)

Seriously though, my view is LLCs should be role models and provide us with a positive example by deeds as well as words - let's face it we need that as much as moral support. Thanks goodness my LLC has taken the journey and is really authentic in herself and in sessions - everyone deserves that level of support.

I also receive more support on minimins. My counsellor has been through the programme I think because people I know knew her previously. They've told me she has been a lot bigger but also a lot smaller. I suppose LL is for people who want to do something about their weight and maybe my counsellors are happy as they are. It's not inspirational though. I keep thinking- I hope I don't end up like them!

I must be really lucky with my LLC.
She is a "foody" as I am and many of us on this forum are.
She doesn't try and turn us against conventional food, she's a realist. In our Maintenance group we often have discussions about clothes, make-up, food and we swap recipes. She does try and encourage us to make sensible choices. She is careful with her own weight and takes care of her image and appearance and manages it well.
She's been an LLC for over 10 years. Many of her customers have maintained and been featured in good news stories, so I figure that can't be coincidence. For me she's a great example.
It is random who you get. I was just lucky - right person, right place, right time.

My LLC is a big lady, I know she has 'dabbled' with LL, I have restarted a few times over the last couple of years and I can only say she seems bigger each time. Obviously each to their own but I do think LL should take the approach of WW and SW and have councillors who have been able to lose weight if they need to and maintain. I personally would find it all a bit more 'real' in my meetings.

I got lucky with my LLC. She lost 10 stone on lighterlife before she bought into the franchise. She could already council over eating, sex addiction and drink problems so knows a lot about it all and she is brilliant.

She also won an award and money for the best LLC in the midlands, or it may have been east midlands (she was up against over 70 other LLC anyway)

When I was in abstinance we had a lady in our group who was a LLC in another area (she travelled quite far to get to the meetings and we were not the closest one to her) and she wanted to lose weight but joined our group instead of going it alone because of how good and how motivational our LLC is.

My LLC is absoloutely lovely, i get treated as most of the clients daughters there 'cause i'm the young one. Lol. She's a big lady and at one point got down to a size 10. Now she has put it all back on. I think it's helpful if they have done the programme themselves as they can relate to you in a way. I was pretty lucky with my LLC. The one i was going to go to before i heard was very strict and wasn't friendly at all.
