Leaving S.W

Hi guys ive been mulling this over the last week or so but after my weigh in this week , a 1.5lb Loss, Ive decided im going to go and try another well known slimming group, Partly because im finding slimming world really time consuming especially with my job its not practical for me to have to prepare every bit of my meals for when im working and the nature of my job means i sleep over so im at work for nearly 2 days at a time, secondly my grocery bills are through the roof :/ and thirdly my group has given me no inspiration or helpful guidance at all, even when ive tried to engage with my consultant in the middle of a conversation she will just take off and start having a gossip with another member, So ive decided enough is enough, And i feel another club can offer me the practicality of what i need. But thank you for all your support the last couple of weeks :) If it wasnt for minimins i wouldnt of had any losses the last 4 weeks xx

Good luck with your weight loss x

Sorry to hear your SW journey hasn't turned out as easy and convenient as you'd like. I do understand what you mean though, as when I worked in london and was spending 4 hours a day on trains, with only an hour at home in the evening before I had to go to bed, I found it easier to follow WW as I could grab food on the go easier, and their ready meals made the evenings easier.

Good luck! I've said many times before that all of these diets work, it's just a case of finding something that fits with your own lifestyle.

Ive heard that "another well known slimming group" has taken on lots of aspect's of SW this year (dont know how true this is).

Why dont you try another group of SW on a different night, you may well find its better for you. i agree sometimes it can be difficult to engage with your consultant but why dont you text her in the week if your having a difficult time and then she may be more open to you at the next meeting.

good luck with whatever you choose.

I wish you well with your weight loss, and hope you find what you need with another plan/club. I know how you feel, only been at SW just over 2 weeks and it's starting to seem a bit too much like hard work. I agree with you about the grocery bills being really expensive doing this plan as well.
Glad you aren't planning to leave the forum as well though.

Thanks for the messages, I think my way of thinking is that, "the other" group has the frozen meals in abundance, plus all the other extra foods they do, i just think its going to fit in better with my lifestyle, i can buy a weeks worth of meals for £7 as i know where i can buy them. I understand the concept of S.W and its been great just thinking about what im putting in my body, the problem is im a creature of habit and i know that if i were to just leave and take the journey on my own i will fail so im exploring all avenues, I guess i just gotta weigh up what it is i need for it to work for good. x

Im off to weight watchers....... ;)

The one thing I would say about the 'other' group you are thinking of joining is that a lot of people I work with have started this but are always hungry because you have to limit everything. I don't really understand the plan but couldn't think of anything worse than being constantly hungry! At least with SW there is always something that you can eat

aaah I dont know maybe im having one of them weeks, I think im just sick and tired of thinking about every bloody morsel of food i put in my mouth, or thinking about how fat i am, or reading diet tips/stories/donts every single day in the paper. Ive had enough. surely life is for living, yes i know im out of shape, im unhappy with my figure, my self esteem is down the toilet, i have zero style, i have boobs that could crush a hamster, Im fed up and tired of it all.BUT why is it so bloody hard when its so god damn easy to put the weight on :/

a bit O/T but throughout my life all ive ever felt like is a failure, its ingrained in me and i just feel like im cracking under the stress , i cant seem to turn it around and finally do it, lose the weight feel beautiful and be happy, im my own worst enemy but how do i talk myself around to keep my chin up and continue :/

If you like eating ready meals for the rest of your life, then go for it I say. If you want to eat properly and healthily then stick with it. There are ways to prepare for a busy lifestyle, some people cook in batches and freeze their meals. Organisation is the key and if your class is rubbish, change classes and use here as your emotional support. Whatever you choose...its your choice, good luck!

Putting on weight is easy, all it requires is a sedentary life and a love of eating.

Losing weight however, means getting a bit more active, being conscious of everything we eat....dull and proper hard work.

Nobody can force you to stay with SW or any plan/club, if something is not working for you, change it, find something that does. WW may not be the place for you either, but if you feel you want to give it a shot...do it. The only thing you have to lose is the weight :) x

If you use your points properly then there's no reason you'd be hungry. On the WW forum the people doing it properly often complain of the opposite of having eaten loads and still having plenty points left

Actually that's another misconception people here have about WW. WW like SW very actively promote and encourage cooking from scratch and eating healthy food. There are dozens of WW recipe books but the ease of convenience food is there should you need it but it is not in any way the basis of the WW programme.

Some people do use ready meals but then thats not following the plan properly its like someone on SW eating super noodles, pasta and sauce and muller lights all the time... yeah its following Sw but not the way its recommended
