Hi all....day 5 down...2 more to go until weigh in. I had a terrible night last night with my little boy, Evan (who is 2 in March). He woke up frightened because the wind and rain were lashing at his window. He wouldn't settle and I ended up being up with him all night! Didn't get one wink of sleep. Have been up all day too as I just can't sleep in the middle of the day. The trouble is because I'm so delirious now my brain is definitely trying to steer me towards food if you know what I mean. I'm not craving it but there is definitely a voice somewhere in the depths telling me I need to eat lol. I am ignoring it needless to say! Had my shake an hour ago and about to have an earl grey to warm my tummy and go to bed. Hoping the urge will have gone in the morning. :D

Hi Arrmikk, I notice we started on the same day. Thanks for your support on my post about the looming weekend. Good luck for the next couple of days and weigh in on Monday. It's the thought of that that's keeping me going at the moment. I think once I've got a weigh in under my belt I'll feel better. How long were you on LT in 2008 and did it get easier the longer you were on it?

:)Hi TC...sorry this is the first time I've been online all day. Yes I noticed that we had started it on the same day too. How has today gone for you? Have you been ok?

It did get easier after the first week definitely and once you get past each weigh in and the weight falls off it becomes second nature. You will really notice the difference in your clothes. I used to weigh and take pics in same clothes so that there was a good comparison.

I started LT at the beginning of January 2008 and did it solid until the start of March 2008, and I lost 2.5 stones in the first 6 weeks and another stone and a half in the following 6 weeks...after that I sabotaged myself on and off LT for the next 12 weeks but altogether I lost 5stones and then when I came off I didn't do refeed and gained about 10lbs stupidly. Then I fell pregnant and the rest is history on my hips!

This time I am looking at it in a whole new way. I have lost weight before doing WW and healthy eating but I have never lost as much as I did on LT. I know that I need to retrain myself this time as I didn't last time. I am only planning to do it for 6 weeks to get 2-3 stones off and then I am coming off it. I plan to do WW after and see where I go from there. I would rather do that than be on and off because I can't stop from eating. I have also read the post on here about refeeding already to prepare myself for that stage and have started collecting recipes from WW magazines to store away for after refeed. I am planning it all out so that I don't fail. I do not want to have to go through this again.

Hard though it is LT does work if you follow it right. The way I look at it is...it's a short period out of a long time of being overweight and well worth the hard work. I know personally that I could not sustain it long enough to lose all of my weight but I can try my best to do it as I have planned.

Good luck and I'll be keeping my eye out for your result and I'll post mine too

Marie :)

Hi Marie,

Today has gone fine. Stayed strong despite taking my son to MacDonald's on the way back from football this morning. The smell of the chicken nuggets and chips in the car was testing. Then this afternoon I went to a friend's house and we chatted in her kitchen while she was making a spag bol. It smelt amazing. I took my shake and blender with me so when she went off to eat her meal I just made my shake. Once I've had my shake I'm fine because I'm not hungry. The thought of losing four stone in three months is a huge motivator. I'd be happy then to come off and lose the last stone and half through SW or WW. It will be lovely to slim for the summer but my main target it my 50th in December.

Hi Thornhill Cate

Just to let you know I lost 12lbs in my first week as I see you did also! Well done...makes it worth the hard work. It's getting easier now. Doing my wii fit for 30 mins a day so see how that goes! Good luck with week 2
