Star Week

Just a question..................is *star week the week before or the actual week (if you know what I mean)....

the week of your period. Have seen that it comes from when SW was all written on paper and the C would put a * next to your weight to show it was that week if you had a gain. so the bashful british public didnt have to say that you were on your period out loud....

Thanks for the reply........I get really bloated the week before.....but on that *week I am ok?........will keep track......and see if there is any difference.....only started back last week.... Thanks again :0)

Apparently water retention can last anywhere from a few weeks before your period to a few weeks after - so "star week" could be any time of the month really in terms of having a gain, depending on how your body reacts.

I am always heavier the week before. In fact I've seen massive weight losses on alot of my weeks when I've been on or at that just coming "off" stage

sorry for slang with on and off lol

but I had always wondered myself why my star week always seemed to be the week I lose and the week before was always a gain or a SS

Yeah- I wouldn't be as specific as it being before, during or after as all of our bodies are different- some ladies don't retain water at all and don't need to account for it.

You will gradually see a pattern- the important thing is not to get despondant if the scales don't seem 'fair' around that time

Another thing is- don't use it as an excuse! lol. I know someone who doesn't lose or gains for 3 weeks every month and says it is because it is the week before/week of/week after her period!!!! She didn't lose any weight at all last year and still convinces herself it is due to bloating (and not McDonalds)

I tend to bloat the week before and first few days of my period but then go back to normal - worse was one week I gained 4lbs! But then I usually lose a bit more the following week, just because I feel so sick and crampy for a couple of days that I lose my appetite a bit and eat less than usual.
