Feeling really down and overwhelmed

hey !

I am feeling hungry today , probably because now I am on 810 I dont have ketosis to help me with my feelings of hunger. I can cope with the hunger but it has realised that I am probably going to feel like this every day for the rest of my life ...... I am totally determined not to regain this weight and to be healthy , but its very overwhelming thinking that i will have to watch what I eat forever .. I will never be able to eat what I want .....

I am even having feeling of ' sod it , I will eat what I want and be happy and fat ...' I so know thats not true but I just cant believe that I have to starve the rest of my life :(

Once you get used to 810 you will probably stay in ketosis... but you may still get hungry days! PLEASE stick to plan, you have done so well and it is REALLY important to work up the plans gradually. By 1000 you'll be eating carbs too and the ketosis will go but so should the hunger, I promise. To maintain, you need to work out what cal level is right to keep you at goal, and that is different for all of us... for me it was 1500/1600 which isn't bad really, if you exercise more than I do you'd get to eat more!

The dangers towards the end of CD are that people do let go a little and begin to bend the rules, but use what you have learned and what you WILL learn on the steps to keep you making healthy choices. For me, I learned to limit some carbs, and avoid if possible some trigger foods like bread, cake, chocolate. I maintained for a year, the panicked and a bit crept on over the last year, then the panic led to the kind of 'sod it' attitude you mention and here I am back again. So... moral of the story is DON'T panic and DON'T go crazy with food.

If you go back to eating the way you once did, you will go back to being overweight... staying at goal means committing to a life change, but trust me, it's worth it. And you won't be hungry forever, not a chance.

Hang on in there, you can do this!

i think i had a similar feeling. i was still in ketosis though and you should be too. it's just that extra food that gets you. you look forward to it but then it gets to you and makes you want to eat more.

i've moved up to the 1000 plan this week and feel full again. i am picking a bit at stuff though but not big greedy pig outs.

too true. i'm bending a bit now on the 1000 but i've been through hell and back since september last year even more so this year so i'm clinging onto everything i can to keep stability. i'm not doing too bad though. my BMR states that without exercise i get 1477 cals to eat. i'm going to try to do 500 cals of exercise a day.
