How can I get myself to commit to this

I am such a rubbish dieter. I started the year by doing 2 weeks of Exante, did well and commited 100% to this and lost 11lbs. My BMI reached 25.2 so I thought it would be good to start introducing food again, did well with this for a week, gained initially which I expected due to eating proper food again, then in the same week lost it all plus an extra pound so 12lbs in three weeks, yay me! I started getting comments from people whether I had lost weight etc, and felt really good about myself, since then though I have been on a massive binge - eating and drinking way too much crap and have put on 6 pounds of what I lost. This trend happens over and over again. I am now back up to needing to lose 2 stone and really want to before end of April now ( this was originally end of March but I can't see that happening now) I'm so annoyed with myself and i know it is only me that can do this. I just need to carry on and not go on the binge stage - I think that is why Exante worked as it was total restriction from food. But i know I can't carry on doing that once I hit BMI of 25 and also worried about slowing down metabolic rate too much. Any tips?!!!

hi and welcome

i think the best thing is to draw a line under it all and start from scratch - and stop beating yourself uup about it.

try keeping a diary and writing everything down... im pretty new also - im sure someone else who knows more will come along soon! xxx

The diary is a great tip! If you try to include how many calories it makes you really aware of what you are eating and it almost forces me to think twice before i coat my toast in butter and swap for a little bit of low fat spread!

Have you tried exercising as well dieting? I never used to lift a finger but i dug out an old exercise bike, bought a wii fit and try to make a small effort every day. By burning 400 or so calories with a half hour bike ride I dont want to ruin my hard work by going for something unhealthy.
