I have been 100% on plan for the past 3 n a half weeks and have been pleased with the results. I am really struggling today though:(. About 4 months ago I had the mirena coil fitted to help with mega pmt , depression and really heavy and painful periods. Since having it fitted i have been having a period almost every 10 days. Not as painful or heavy but not the light spotting as promised:(. Anyway the reason i am struggling today is I sooooooooo want lots n lots n lots of chocolate:cry:. Chocolate is not usually my thing of choice but..... I would usually just have some and syn it but got a weekend away and I am saving my weeks worth of syns for that. I hate myself for allowing myself to get this fat:mad: Thanks for listening (reading) lol x

I can't really offer any pratical advice other than when I have a chocolate craving I reach for the mullerlight with chocolate sprinkles..

Other than that, I sympathise with you and even though I don't like chocolate that much either, there's some times when as a woman nothing else will do..

Just focus on the fact that you have a weekend to look forward to :) and remember there's people on here 100% behind you :)

Xx

I have horrible cravings for cake and chocolate when the old time of the month hits. I have found that get a pack of fun sized mars or what ever your poison is and put them in the freezer and if you need to give in(and seriosuly sometimes its better so you will just over want and binge) take one out and nibble at it. Choclate hit without the vast amounts. Once you have had this if you can go do something active, as i find if i also reduce salt intake, drink more water and exercise more at the time of month, my cravings reduce and well my mind gets distracted by the exercise.

Also i suggest you go back to your doctor to ask about the coil. I;ve suffered from painful heavy periods since i was about 13 and been through most types of contraception to help and the only one which has been reasonable has been the implant.

This is rich coming from me but try not to hate yourself(i has some self issues). Focus on the positives, dont beat yourself up for any slips. YOU have already started to MAKE the change and thats what is important. Also you are human and though we would all love to be, not perfect :D

Thank you so much Befanwi. I have those yoghurts in my fridge at the mo and had totally forgot about them. You have made me realise not to focus on things I cant have (large bar of Bournvillelol) and what i can have. I really appreciate the reminder of support too. Thanks x x

Thanks for helping me see the positive side of my journey:D Very very good idea with the frozen treats x x

SW say the chocolate craving is actually a carbohydrate craving which we get around the TOTM and they used to recommend doing green days.
So, have some pasta or rice or a jacket potato for you meals and hopefully you'll feel better soon. x

You could also try the chocolate orange alpen light bars, they're reeeeally nice and hit the spot when you fancy a bit of chocolate. I also have cadburys highlights hot choc at 2 syns a cup with a sweetener in.

When I get lows where I just want SOMETHING I come on here and look through the gallery at all the before and after pics, helps keep me on track.

The chocolate and fudge alpen light bars are my hexb weakness :) always save a hexb for this when I'm watching tv in the evening with a cup of tea, they have been a lifesaver especially TOTM time!

I think the carb craving is definitely true though, I always crave pasta, too!

Had a mug shot for lunch (apple n orange for s/f) and making a MASSIVE turkey stir fry with lots of noodles for dinner. Thank my cravings. I have some Alpen bars in the cupboard so think a cuppa and a couple of those could be good for me as I often do not have any healthy B x x

I agree the alpen lights really hit the spot for that choccie fix :)

I totally agree, Alpen Lights (Choc & Fudge) are a life saver when you get those chocolate cravings. The Chocolate Orange ones are nice too, but Chocolate & Fudge ones are even more chocolatey, in my opinion. The definitely help to surpress those urges!
