On Yer Bike!

Well as winter has now gone and the snow has stayed away, I'm thinking of getting the bike out to kickstart my exercise and hopefully loss of weight in time for and for the run up to summer.

At the moment I walk a few miles a day at work (no longer seems to help, done it for a couple of years and lost a fair bit of weight when I first started) and I visit the gym twice a week. I intend to make this 3 times a week to concentrate on a mix of cardio and strength training.

Also, for the reason of the silly petrol prices and parking charges in my area, I'm thinking of starting to commute to work on my bike.

The journey to work is 5 and a half miles along a fairly straight stretch. This would total 11 miles per day I cycled.

I know it is unrealistic to do this every day, and I am thinking of doing it once or even twice a week to get me started.

Has anyone got any good weight loss tips for cycling?

Thanks :)
