Spain free and low syn foods.

Hiya. Im new to this forum. Im living on the costa del sol and have just started doing slimming world. Im mostly following the original plan. Have read through this thread, and im mostly confused about yogurts....I bought some 0 percent grasas (cant find the percent symbol on this laptop) from carrefour but not sure if they are actually syn free. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks xx
Hiya boomfy and welcome to Minis.

Most
0% fat yoghurts are syn free - so long as they are under 60 kcals for 100g!
I've never bought Carrefour yogurts - I live on Mercadona ones :8855:

If you give me the following info I'll check on the SW online syn checker for you.
I need the info per 100g for protein, fat, carbs - and also let me know the pot size (most are 125g)

How long have you lived on the C del Sol?
PS % symbol is usaul above the number 5

Thanks pomette that's kind. I don't have the pot to hand, I can tell you later though if that's ok?! :)

Ahhh. Number 5. Not used to being on a laptop. Rely on my iPad and iPhone. Also not used to the laptop not correcting my grammar and spellings like my apple devices lol. Lazy!!

I've lived here for nearly 9 years. Love it here although past few days have been a bit grim weather wise.

So these are 40kcals, 0,2% fat but 5/6% sugars. I thought that was high?! I think they were really cheap. And they're tasty. I hope they're free :)

I'm popping down mercadona in a bit I'll have a look at theirs.

Yep - they're free!

As I said, I normally use the Mercadona 0% ones - they're runny yoghurts and come in an 8-pack with 4 flavours - and I love them.
Also the La Pasteleria 0% fat ones make a nice change. Although one of them is 70 kcal so is 1/2 syn I think.
Consum "solid" 0% fat yoghurts are nice too but a lot more expensive than the Carrefour ones.
Mas y Mas solid ones are noice too.

Great news about the carrefour ones.
I bought both the 0% fruit ones and the la pastelera ones. I prefer the fruit ones I think.

Has anyone seen the giant pot of low fat Greek yogurt in lidl?! It's similar values per 100g to the mercadona yogurts so am I right in assuming it's also free?!

Post the info and I'll check it.
Low fat does NOT equal 0% fat and usually has syns.

4,3g protein
0,3g fat
5,2g carbs
Per 100g
Pot size 125g

These are the cremoso ones from mercadona. With fruit but no bits. They're cherry, coconut, strawberry and something else I can't remember.
Sorry for posting so much. I'd delete the irrelevant posts if I knew how.

Thanks for the help I really appreciate it :)

You can't delete posts - but you can delete the content by editting and just putting something like *** deleted ***
You forgot the cals . . . :8855: but here goes
56 or less = free
57-63 = ½ syn
64-71 = 1 syn
72-79 = 1½ syns
80-87 = 2 syns
88-95 = 2½ syns
96-103 = 3 syns
If it's over this shout up

Protein-6g
Fat-2g
Carbs-4,2g

Thanks. If it's not my family will eat it anyway haha.

Need more info on this one! This one is calculating weirdly.
Assuming values are per 100 ml and pot size = 125 then
With 70 kcal = ½ syn
and with 80 kcal - 1 syn
BUT - with only 60 kcal = 2 syns

Very weird!

I think the cremoso one is 54 cals so that's free right?

The Greek one is a huge tub. It's 60 cals per 100 serving. That is strange. What other info would you need? I'll have another look in the morning :) thanks.

Yep the cremosa one is free

Unfortunately the Greek one isn't. It's 1½ syns per 100g portion - so 2 syns for a normal yogurt pot-ful!

Okay. Thanks. Hmmm wondering how to use it now. May just bin it as don't want to be tempted.

Thanks for the informative info re yogurts in Spain.
Back in Spain and back on SW after a terrible gain due to op and no exercise for months etc. Just and excuse to sit on the sofa drinking wine and eating cheese sandwiches I suppose.
Sad to hear that the Mercadonna Pastaleras (sp) are now syns but will stop me from eating too many of them and have just stocked up on the Bifidus ones which are quite nice. I do like Mercadonna yogurts.
No eating out for a while and no drinking wine has to be my new Mantra.

Could anyone tell me if Mercadona stock a granulated sweetener similar to Splenda?

Not 100% sure as I haven't used sugar for over 40 years!
They certainly do a liquid one so I'm pretty sure you'll find a granulated one.
