Well I joined group last night, and it seems to be a really lovely group and I am so motivated and happy to be starting this journey to slimmyness!!

Just a quick question - what do you suggest for a lunch on the run? I have 2 small kids, and quite often, we will stop at McDonalds for lunch, or they will want a sausage roll from the bakers etc??? I am planning on planning my meals, but i just wondered if i was ever caught on the hop, what would be the best thing to have

Heya
welcome to minimins and congrats on joining SW!

I have always struggled on eating on the run, I tend to take a couple of peices of fruit with me and an alpen light bar. Other than that, I have been known to buy the seafood packs and a bag of salad from supermarkets and eat that for a quick lunch. Also buy bags of fruit too when I am out. Shop bought sandwiches tend to be quite high in syns and rather than risk eating it then checking I resort to fruit or shop preprepared veggies.

McDonalds = go for the fruit bag or garden side salad ( free on all plans ) and a coffee / tea without sugar.. ( syns for the milk or keep the pot and deduct it from your HeA allowance when you get home :) )

Avoid McDonald's!!!
If I'm out I go for a jacket potato with beans or tuna (no mayo). It's not quite on the run but most places do it.
I always have a banana and cereal bar with me so I can have those but it depends how long you are out for really and if you want a proper lunch.
Avoid any shop bought sandwich too.

It is hard adjusting especially if the kids want to go to McD's but it can be done.

Welcome along hun and good luck!

I try to make sure I don't get caught out on the run, unprepared. I realised that is was the unplanned, grabbing of things when I was out that usually pushed me way over my syns, or eating completely wrong things altogether. Now i've identified those patterns of times when my eating goes to pot, I can now make sure I plan around it.

I think Towns and shops are pretty good these days to allow healthy snacks or meals without the need to visit burger bars.
