Hash Browns

Hi

My other half and I are having a 'fry up' for tea tonight, although nothing is actually fried!

Does any one know how many syns are in a Hash Brown? I intend on baking them if they are not too high in syns!

Many thanks

Anna

4.5 per 100g on EE and green, 8.5 on red

These are for McCains

I've not had hash browns since I was little so I can't really remember what they taste like but I'm sure you could gap the hole with some mashed/fried potatoes! :)

You tend to get 2 hash browns for those syns though so well worth it in my opinion.

Please post syn value queries in the relevant sub forum in future :)

I think its worth it as Jaylou said you get 2 for 4.5 syns!
Hash browns + plastic cheese = my downfall :(

home made hash browns are lovely and far better for you, as they are made from fresh products instead of lots of salt, dehydrated potato and potato starch.

of course if you want something quick then they are handy for an occasional thing.

Not to worry, it was just a little reminder. I know you are new, that's why I told you :)
It just saves the mods having to move posts all the time.

According to the food optimising book an average 40g hash brown is 2 syns. My fry ups wouldn't be the same without it! Sometimes you don't have the time to make them from scratch so i grill a couple and syn them

So for two hash browns it is 4.5? That's good I love them I've been counting them as 3 syns each not sure where I got that idea!
