Sorry for sounding off, but I don't want to shout at my hubby and I need to shout at something!!
Bit of background: I left my job in September 2009 and started working somewhere else in October 2009. In November 2009 I started doing Avon (what a mistake) so registered as self-employed. That means I have to fill out a tax return for 2009-2010.
Part of that involves putting in my income and student loan deductions for the year. So I've gone off what my student loans statement says and put that number in. Apparently that's only half of what should have been paid so I need to pay an extra £500!
Now, I'm a student again and just don't HAVE a spare £500 just kicking around the place to whack off my loan
The only conclusion I can come to is that one of my past employer has been a total idiot and not confirmed my deductions. I wouldn't mind having to pay it myself if I'd not ALREADY BLOODY WELL PAID IT FROM MY SALARY!!
I've got until tomorrow to file my return so going to ring them both to see if they can confirm my deductions. What a farce.
Sorry about that - rant over
