Is gold membership worth it?

Hi, I want to join slimming world's online membership and I'm interested in the gold membership so I can get all the extras like the magazine and the two books (Food Optimising and Body Magic). However, there doesn't appear to be any other benefits (apart from these books) over the silver membership.
I hope somebody can help me discover why gold membership is £15 more than silver every 3 months.
Am I missing something obvious here?
Many thanks

I don't think so! I opted for silver for the magazine but didn't think the books would add much value as all the info you need is on the website.

Yeah pretty much what I was thinking. I see eBay is crammed full of slimming world publications. So if I want anything I should be able to get it there!!

Many thanks

I would say no. I joined as a silver member so I could get the magazine but to be honest I thought it was a complete waste of money. The only advantage was being able to access syns on line. If you want to join on line I would go for bronze then take a seperate subscription for the magazine. Have to say I didn't feel i got any support on line other than a generic email saying well done or keep trying. You get way more support on here. Just my personal opinion.

Hi
I do SW online and opted for the Gold Membership. Waste of time tbh, I thought Id get a hard copy of everything that's online so I could keep in the kitchen for easy reference, but I was disappointed with what I got. Agree with kerry too, there is no real support just a generic email - much more support and advice here. Would go for bronze next time and get the books from ebay.

i did the silver and just printed off the pdf's of the syns and healthy extras, and i can buy the mags in the newsagents :)

I have the gold membership - there's no benefit to it, whatsover. The only difference I can see is that you get a book with the healthy extras in - and my colleague joined using the cheapest membership and just downloaded the pdfs with all the info. TBH, I've done the same now as it's easier for me to use the computer or my phone to check the pdf than to lug the book around with me.

The only things I like about my subscription is the food diary and fitlog - and I can post this on this site, so I won't be renewing my membership when it expires.

As I recall, there was only £5 difference between the bronze and silver membership so it was worth the extra fiver to get a years subscription to the magazine. Glad I haven't missed anything with gold though!

Personally I have no regrets about taking the gold online membership. The extra £15 is only for the initial 3 months, after that you pay the same no matter which package you took. The books that you get are for reference. You can use the stuff online (which is the same) but if you stop subscribing, you won't have the books at home. I love the magazine and will take up a subscription again in 1 years time.

Good luck whatever you decide.

Thanks for the input. I went for silver in the end and have spent the day fretting over what to eat! I don't think I ate enough. Only used 5.5 syns. I tried the pork and veggie kebabs with creamy garlic dip for dinner and it was lush! Looking forward to tomorrow!

Sounds good. Keep trying new things and use your syns - they are what makes the plan sustainable (for me at least). I love the magazine which you'll get with Silver.
