Hi there,

Just had a conversation with a friend about the first few weeks on a TFR. She was saying that week 3 can be a slow one while your body catches up with the losses you've had in week 1 & 2.

I'm in my third week and although I'm not worried about the short term loss (it's all about getting to goal and following RTM for me!!) but I'm wondering how much truth is in a slow week 3. I know everyone is different, it's just curiosity.

For me:
Week 1 -8
Week 2 -5
Week 3 (5days only) -1

No one!?!!

Thanks Sandy x

I always get a low week 3 too, 2 lbs is average. Week 4 is usually 3 lb ish and then it begins to even out at 3-4lb a week. Hopefully I'll never have to do those first 3 weeks again. Good luck x

i havent weighed on week 3 yet at LL, however, it does look like it is going to be lower. i lost 6.5 and 4.5 Which i was a little disappointed in tbh, and now it lloks like this one is going to be low as i am weighing at home just to see how i am doing. HOWEVER it is my totm so im hoping it will be water.

im dreading my week 3 WI too...... i wanna nice big number!

I lost 3lb this week, however I have weighed a day early so I'm happy with that!!

Due to the first 2 weeks WI losses being mostly water & glycogen loss, they show big numbers... But after those stores are depleted, you're onto actual fat loss... So your losses are gonna reduce, although exactly how much varies from individual to individual! :)

What's important is that you're losing... Even if it's slow... Its still gonna be quicker on this diet than any other... And a loss is a loss!

This is what I have to remind myself anyway, as have a few low losses so far... Despite sticking to the diet religiously, and doing everything right! ;)

I hoped I'd be done with foundation within 4 months, but I have had to re-evaluate that as I realise i was being too optimistic! But it's cool! It took a while to gain the weight, so I have to be patient in losing it! Plus, I'm losing it once and for all, for the rest of my life... So an extra month or 2 in the grand scheme of things is really no biggie! :D

Xx
