I am on day 3 of the Cd and I am ss. Getting married in 9 weeks time and want to lose about 14-21 ilbs so that I fit my dress better. I have lost 2 stone since the start of year by healthy eating(not dieting) and to be honest would have continued this method if it hadnt been for time scales of fitting into dress. The cdc that I have seems very nice but didnt explain diet much. I learned everything about ketosis etc by reading up on internet. I had asked her about re-eating as when wedding is over going on Honeymoon and will want to eat. She advised just to eat and drink whatever I wanted and that would put on over a stone and then just to start back cd again.
She says she does this all the time goes on holidays etc puts on a stone then just loses it again (she has been doing this for over 20 years). I know this might work for her but it is not really something that I want to do.
My question is do you think it would be better to maybe follow diet for 6 weeks say and then swap to ww or something 3 weeks prior to Honeymoon or cd right up to wedding.

Sorry for length of post but just a bit concerned. I have yoyo dieted all my life and finally feel that I understand my relationship with food and what I need to do and eat to maintain a healthy lifestyle and dont want to blow it and become caught in a trap of yo -yo dieting using vlcd.

Thanks in advance. I have been reading posts here and can see that lots of people with a wealth of experiance on diet.

 I am shocked that any CDC would not only admit to being a comitted yoyo dieter but to endorse it....

I understand that one of the philosophies behind CD is to totally reeducate the persons relationship with food and break the yoyo pattern... I am sure I read this somewhere....

Of course you want to eat at your wedding and honeymoon,,,, maybe doing the steps to maintence and then you probably won't put on that much whilst away? If you are sensible...

I'm sure a cdc will offer better advice, but I am still shocked you have been encourgaed to yoyo!

Cinders my advice would be to sole source for 6 weeks, then do add a meal for a week and then step up to 790 for 1 to 2 weeks, then step up to 1000 plan and then hopefully by your wedding you'll be either on plan 1200 or 1500 with no weight gain :)

Cambridge has a good maintenance plan, the steps are very important for stabilisation. See how your weight loss is after 4 weeks and take it from there.

I wouldn't advocate going on holiday and eating as much as you like, that would just make you bloat out something terrible! Step up the program and you'll be fine :)

Hi there - that's certainly not the advice that I would give my clients....you really should move up the plans (as outlined in your yellow book)....if you have time 1 week at each step...if not, the you can do a fast track 3 or 4 days on each step..doing this means that you are re-introducing carbs gradually....and shouldn't get the big hit that replenishing glycogen stores may give.

Well done on taking steps to lose your extra weight - you will definitely have 14 to 21lbs off in 9 weeks and should have plenty of time to move up the steps.

hope that helps

Good luck !!

Thanks for the advise I feel much happier about that. I would rather lose some weight and then gradually increase my food prior to wedding then just stop day before and then be going on Honeymoon. Although I am planning to enjoy myself on honeymoon I am going to try and still eat a healthy breakfast, not have deserts etc and not stuff myself till I feel sick just for the sake of it.

Meant to say she didnt give me a yellow book, only a pink one, would it just be a matter of going through steps in website that explains programmes. I am just worried that will gain a stone even if I am following a healthy diet

Ask her for the yeallow 'Weight Care with Cambridge' book - all CDCs are supposed to give that at the first appointment (some CDCs may charge - discretionary)

You should have a yellow book given on first appointment, ask her for one if she doesn't give you one next week.

 you should've asked for one!

I bought a yellow book last week, I was told it was given free at maintenace, but I had to buy it if I wanted it now!!!

:eek: CDC's have to supply you with a book when you first start, no matter what programme you are doing. They can charge you for it if they want to but they still HAVE to supply one.

Thanks just went on to ebay and got one.

Aw, you should've asked for one, your CDC has to supply you with one. She can charge but even so I think the RRP is £1.50. She/he is obliged to provide you with one from the start though.
