WHERES THE EUPHORIA??

Hi all, I'm on day 6 on CD, due to get weighed tomorrow morning. I am finding it bearable, not really hungry but god I am so down, have no energy to do anything - just want to sleep all the time. To be honest I'm not always the happiest person in the world and was looking forward to the "euphoria" and energy that is supposed to come with this diet! But so far all I feel is depressed. Any advice from you CD professionals will be much appreciated x

i am afraid not everyone gets the endless energy and euphoria !!! I got it first time I did CD , but to be honest now I dont get much change when I go into ketosis !! sorry to say that you may never get that feeling but if its bearable then each weeks weigh in will make you feel amazing if nothing else does :)

Last time I didn't really manage to get into ketosis, the stix only showed pink first thing in the morning once I started drinking they went back to beige but I did still lose weight. So never had the euphoria, in fact I was depressed for the whole 4 months I was on it..... hoping this time might be different

Im on week 4, and I am not feeling any euphoria! Im pretty sure I am in ketosis though as I smell like a donkey, but the happiest I feel is when I stand on the scales and see a loss.

HOWEVER...I am definitely losing weight, and the diet is obviously working, so stick with it hun, and get your support from here! x

hey hun just to say everyone only has a pink stik in the morning , water in the day dilutes the ketones , but if you are getting them in the morning you ARE in ketosis all the time :)

I don't get the euphoria either but you will find:
- your mood and energy will lift over the coming weeks as your weight comes off as your self-esteem will start lifting too.
- as you stop overloading your body with carbs/sugar/choc/caffeine etc (what ever your "drug" of choice was) your mood and energy will lift as all those food stuffs actually make you feel sluggish.
- as you lose weight (and it comes off shockingly fast if you stick 100%) you will find you want to do more and this becomes a positive cycle as the more you do the more you start wanting to do.
- try not to give into the fatigue if you can.. it tends not to be a fatigue that is relieved by rest/napping.. in fact that tends to make it worse. If you can try going for a short walk instead. Try the "10 minute" rule... that you'll try it for 10 minutes and if you want to go back and nap after that then you will (most people end up staying out more than 10 minutes).

Take care hon

euphoria???? what euphoria lol. no i find that i do get bursts of energy throughout the week/day. as the weight falls off and you get thinner you'll get a boost from it and want to do more cause you energy will automatically lift. i tend to buzz on this diet but it might be the caffeine ;).

Hi guys, thanks so much for your responses, taken it all in. Hoping for a good 1st week weight loss tomorrow, hoping that will cheer me up. But on the other hand a bad weight loss might send me over the edge, lol x

you'll have a good week if you've stuck to it.
