Hiya, today I went to my local jewellers to see how much I would get for my old gold. I was amazed, I only had 30grams of gold at got £250 and my old silver I got £50. It's really worth going through all your old gold and see how much you can get.

So now I'm gonna look at buying some really prett jewellery that's more my style than my old 90's style lol

Wow, thats really good. I have jewellery in my box that i no longer wear, (from past relationship) that i could get valued or sell. Its just sitting in my box doing nothing, hasnt been worn for years.

I hope you find something lovely x

The one tip I'd say is go to a jewellers. I tried cash converts and another porn shop and they offered me really low amounts.

I thought is never wear my old stuff so why keep it? I've kept all my sentimental items like my 18th,21st and grandmothers items

Thank you. I would love a 18ct white gold charm bracelet, but there doesn't seem many about without costing £1000 upwards lol

I guess the Porn shop probably weren't as interested as the Pawn shop might've been!! Just had visions on you in a sex shop asking about your gold!!!

Out of interest, how much silver stuff did you have? I've got some bits, but not sure there's enough to be worth much.

Stupid predictive text lol though there is two sex shops on my area, might have to try then next time lol

I can't remember the weight, I just chucked it all in lol. At the moment 975 silver (sterling silver) is at 48p per gram.

I tried selling some gold and silver, and also my SIL tried selling her engagement and wedding ring which are platinum, however no jewellery shops around here seem to be buying at the minute because no one is buying apparently!
Im looking to buy a ring but there is none i like! lol!

Can you get things valued at a jewellers? I have my Great Grandma's wedding & engagement rings. I don't want to sell them, but I'd love to know what they're worth.. Can I just take them to a regular jewellers to do this? Or someone specific?

Hiya that's ok lol

Yeah you can go to an jewellers for a valuation. They will be able to tell you the carat of the metal, quality of diamonds ( if you've got them)


Personally id go to an independent jewellers not places like H Samuals but that's only cos I like an old fashioned jewellers lol
