I see my CDC every fortnight as she lives out of the area so today was my first weigh in. That was all good, 16 lbs off (yay!) but she also told me I shouldn't be doing the couch to 5k running program I started last week on SS. I'm a bit bummed because I was really enjoying it and was feeling positive about getting to the 5k.

Yet again the exercise and SS mix. I've been doing it as well - with no problems and FULL support of my CDC - its such a gentle start to exercise and builds up gently over the first 4 weeks - there really shouldn't be any problem with it. I'll be back with a couple of links for you in a minute

Not sure if this is how to do a link but heres the most recent thread

http://www.minimins.com/cambridge-diet-forum/188774-exercising-vlcd-wiki-info.html

I asked my CDC and she checked and told me that the current advice is that if you are used to exercising then carry on. if you are new to it, start gently and build up slowly (which is exactly what c25K does) and that you might want to leave it for the first couple of weeks as you can feel very fatigued.

Hope this helps

So is it ok then? She was saying I'll be burning muscle rather than fat and it will affect weight loss as well as being bad for my heart

you will NOT be burning muscle. load of tosh. the c25k is very gentle and involves more walking initially. you must always listen to your body. if you are not able to do it one day then listen. if you set off and feel that you just can't do it that day, lack of energy etc then go home. always drink your bit of water.

Good Luck - I'm working on it too - into week 3 at the moment and its great to have a goal

my cdc said today i can do exercise but again like others have said start slowly! x
