if u use milk as your Hex n you have some left do u have 2drink it otherwise syn it?

I'm rolling over leftover milk and using it for my tea the next day if it's just a little and then having a different HE for that day if I don't need more milk.

No you do not need to syn the milk if you are not having the full amount. There is nothing in the SW literature to say this. All it says is that you may not get the full recommended about of calcium. But if you are eating yoghurts etc then this should not be an issue.

And NO, you are not allowed to carry HEs over from one day to the next - they are use it or lose it - so no using the leftover milk the next day.

i don't understand that though. If you can use Syns weekly, why can't you use the HEs weekly too? I can't see the sense in 'making' myself drink milk I don't want today rather than using it tomorrow. What difference will it make?

It is because your HEs are there to make sure you have a nutritionally balanced diet EVERY day. If you were able to carry them over then potentially people might have days when they did not have enough calcium and fibre or even none at all. If SW make you have them each day then you know that you are getting the full nutritional benefit.

Thanks for clarifying. That makes sense as a healthy eating philosophy - glad to know it's not exactly related to weight loss. I have been able to eat all my HEs for a week but guess I am deviating somewhat by using up my leftovers.

Rather than thinking you've got to swig your milk from allowance of HE'A to use it up, have you thought perhaps of making a milky options with it, swapping the same proportion of left-over allowance milk for cheese or making a syn-free rice pud (receipe on this forum uses just water but you can always use your left over milk?
