DRASTIC ACTION......

emz.is.shrinkin

on the shrink.!!
evening everyone,

flip where do i start???

attempted cd last year and couldnt get past 2 weeks.:break_diet: my starting weight was 13st 6lbs.
bout a month later i started rosemary conley. starting weight 13st 11lbs. fluctuated between a 5lb and 8lb loss. then went waaaay off the rails over christmas :break_diet:

re-started rc in jan at a starting weight of 13st 13lbs:cry::cry:
lost 5lbs the first week but i think i put it on again last week.

everytime i start a diet i seem to be heavier than i was when i started the previous one. DRASTIC ACTION IS SERIOUSLY NEEDED..!!!

i havent been this weight in nearly 5 years. my lowest during that time has been 12st which i was okay about although still wanted to lose a couple stone. but now, i am really down that i have let my weight creep up again. all my own fault of course.

i stopped smoking on the 11th which i am very proud about. :D

after stopping i had a week of nibbling on all things bad. which was why i think i put on again. but even when i was on rc in the run up to xmas when i was still smoking i would binge on foods.
i would binge on silly things. i would buy snack a jacks to snack on but before i knew it the whole packet was gone. this is why i ended up losing between 5-8lbs. i would lose 1 week, gain the next and so on.

so, now that my smoking cravings have completely subsided (the nicotine inhaler thingy has lay in the bottom of my handbag for 4 days now!) i think i am ready to have another go at cambridge.

i have been all over the place with food since the new year. i started back to rc, then after i decided stop smoking i thought i'd be better doing like a sw/old ww core plan diet so as i could snack more, but now that seemed like a bad idea coz i ate way too much so now that im over the fag cravings i want to concentrate on my weight.

i have about 40 packs left over from last time which would give me 10 days if i do ss+. i tried ss but found it left me weak. im a hairdresser so i on my feet all day with very little breaks so my cdc had agreed at that time that maybe ss+ be better.

if i manage to stick 1 week on this i will ring up my cdc and make an appointment with her.

so here goes, restart number 2 will commence 2moro morning.

any advice and opinions from u guys would be much appreciated. i need all the help and motivation i can get.

sorry for rambling. its actually taken me over an hour to write this post :sigh::sigh::sigh:

emz xx

you need to find your focus and reasons why you want to do this. only you can find this at the min. we are all here to help you on your way and give you the lift/boost that you need but having your head in the right place is essential.

Well done firstly on quitting smoking!
I gave up cd after only 5days a few weeks ago and cried for days! Some one said to me today that trying again shows determination and honestly going without food is hard work! Take it one day at a time and it's achievable! (need to take my own advice!) I will be starting nxt Friday too Hun by that time you will have done one week! Xxx

I really, really empathize with your struggles about snacking and wanting nibbles! :patback:

Hang in there and find the best way you can to focus. Throw out any naughty foods you have and think of the money you will save if you never ever buy sinful things to eat! You can do it. :party0011:

this is where I think you are going wrong ... IF you manage ... dont think IF think WHEN .... I truly believe that the difference between success and failure is mental attitude (wow I sound really hippyfied !!) but if you are positive and see the diet as an amazing way to loose weight , get excited , then you will succeed :)

after that .... drink lots of water , take paracetamol if you get a head ache , drink more water , just keep telling yourself that after the first week it gets 100 times easier and you will get there :)

Good luck :)

thank u great things. i had a good long chat with my mum about it this morning to the point where i was in tears. i just feel that this is the path that i need to follow because i really need to assess my relationship with food, and learn to be concious of every little thing that enters my mouth.

when i was growing up my wee mammy used to give me platefull off food that u could climb. i think she was scared of under feeding me lol. but i was never allowed to leave the table till it was empty. then in later years when i was doing my hairdressing training i was working looong hours and had to go for hours without food so i would eat loads on my lunch to keep me going and not be hungry. but ive never learned to get away from that, and the foods that i eat and the amount is pure gluttony. its like i think it mite be ages before i eat again but even when im full i keep eating coz ''i wasnt allowed to leave food on my plate''. its such a vicious circle. so my theory is that i need to completely re-introduce myself to a healthier way of eating by working my way up the plans.

i really want to do it this time. i have been reading all the diaries on here and success stories and u are all such an inspiration. so i hope i can take some of this on board and that it will spur me on to keep going.:D

hey I understnad you there , we were brought up to 'sit there and eat it ' and I dont blame my mum I do feel that this is one of the reasons why I do not have a 'full indicator ' , I can eat and eat now and not ever feel full :( I am trying to be the opposite with my children but its so hard to get the balance right !!!

oops again , no you didnt come across as blaming your mum at all , I know how very hard it is to get the balance right of getting children to eat enough without getting them to eat too much .....

What katie says is so true

Emz . First well done for giving up smoking - thats a huge achievement. I know just how you are feeling. I have been on a diet for 19 years and every time I have ended up heavier that the previous start. But not this time! This is the first time I have managed to lose more than a stone/stone and a half and I really believe I can do it - which I think makes the difference.

Its all about focus/ being in the Zone but its not always easy to get there and stay there - I am this time - don't know why or how but I am and i'm just praying that it doesn't desert me before I am and goal and beyond Get yourself a book and write down why you want to lose weight, what your goals are, what you will do when you have lost the weight etc. You can also write down your progress, stick a couple on inspirational piccies in it - maybe your own start photo - anything that helps you keep positive. Every time you have a great result (and you will) write down how you feel - capture that good feeling - and the same when things don't go so well - write down how carp you feel afterwards. Then the next time you feel you are losing focus - take a minute and read every page - cover to cover - and really read/think about what you have written down. Then do it again - with a big glass of water - it might help keep your focus or at least remind you how you do and don't want to feel!

This is a great diet so go for it!

Wow setas thank u so much. It's great to know I'm not alone. I have started CD this morning and I am in a great mood. Just hope it stays to help me on my way although I do know there will be times when I'll want to throw in the towel. I have in fact started a diet book. I have pics of me in it and the goals that I have. I really want to do it this time and not let it beat me.
The other thing on my mind is that I don't want the embarrassment that after telling people that I'm doing this to have to then tell them I fell off the wagon. I can just hear them '' ooh there goes emz on another diet, wonder how long this one will last''. I want to be able to prove the negative people wrong..!! :) :)

So here goes emz on another diet.....but not only will this one last, IT WILL BE THE LAST..!!!! :) :) :) xxx
