Hello Ladies and of course any Gentleman out there :),

Well this is my First ever Diary entry :).

A little bit about myself, I am 29yrs, currently a stay at home mum and will also soon be studying with the Open University.
I confess to being a yo-yo dieter and have been for many years but as i said in my introduction a few days ago i am determined that this year, enough is enough, this year will be the year i finally reach my Goal :).

I am on no diet as such, Healthier eating, No naughty Goodies, plenty of water and the odd diet coke :).
Exercise wise i am currently doing the Ea Active 2/ Kinect - 9 week program, which i am roughly 2 weeks into, plus when not aching too much from this :) i go on the Wii Fit plus.

I am hoping that writing this Diary will keep me on line, plus share my journey to inspire others like so many of you have inspired me :).

If anyone would like to buddy up with me, that would be fab :) .
Hope you are all having a lovely day,

Sugar Lump xx

Hi,
I am also a yo-yo dieter not following a conventional diet plan other than counting calories. I joined this site this week in order to meet people who suffer from the same problems as me, namely a love of food. I work now, but when I was a stay at home mum I found it difficult to keep weight off, the benefit was that when I decided to lose weight I could exercise freely during nap-time. Now I work full time and am so tired when I get home that exercise is a luxury. I do like the sound of your fitness regime though, what is EA Active 2/ Kinect like? is it better than the Wii fit? If you don't mind me asking, how much weight are you planning on losing?
Good luck on your journey.

Hi Senga :)

Well you have definately met a fellow yo-yo dieter, though i am striving to make that a definate ex yo-yo dieter :)!

Ea Active 2 on the Kinect is amazing :), I would definately recommend it! Its 9 week program is the one which i am following, its in 3 phases, and you can choose the level which you would like to start at, easy meduim to hard. I am on the Easy as i had no level of Fitness at all! :) You work out 4 times a week on the program but you can make your own routines too aswell as pick ones from a list if you only have so much time :) . It slowly ups the intensity and length so you don't really notice it until the end when you are sweating :)! lol!
I wouldn't say it is better than the wii fit as it is very different, but in my opinion the ea active gives me more of a workout you would expect at a gym/class where as i find the Wii Fit great for those days i want to keep the exercise up but i am aching to much to do a full workout :).

Actually your messege reminded me that i must enter in my weight details on here :), I currently weigh 150lbs and am setting myself a mini goal to get down to 140lbs, i am also measuring too as i find that shows weight loss better especially at that time of the month when i feel like a bloated balloon :) lol. My ultimate Goal is to reach 9 and a half stone :).

I hope you are having a good day and i wish you all the luck on your journey! We can do this :) xxx

Ahh It's Friday :)!

Well today I am feeling good about myself :).
I must admit I have a habit of starting a new diet, doing exercise, going on a health kick etc. and although I start with lots of motivation, it normally only lasts 2 weeks , but this week is the end of my 3rd week :).
I have heard people say before that you need to be ready in your mind to achieve your goal and this time i actually do feel "Ready", I haven't missed the Naughty Food's and have enjoyed eating Healthier, and I never thought I would be able to say I look forward to exercising and the feeling you get finishing another workout :).
I know I will have bad day's and the Chocolate will Win at times but instead of letting that ruin everything, I will pick myself up and carry on :).

I am going to write down my Measurements so I can keep track. :)
9/1/2011 - Hip. 40in.
Waist. 32in.
Leg. 25in
I will measure again on the 1st of Feb :) Fingers crossed for inch loss!

Will leave it there . .
Hope everyone has the Friday Feeling :)

I am totally with you on the measurements, I do a lot of different ones so that I can see overall the inches that come off you would be so surprised. As I take these measurements everytime I yo-yo I can clearly see how much bigger I am now than when I stopped dieting before. It will sound a bit excessive but the measurements I take are.
Waist
Hips
Bum
Blub (the area of flab between my belly button and top of my legs)
top of leg
Under knee
ankle
Arm
Under bust
Over bust
neck

Like I said you will be surprised at the results, I know what size I looked good at and 9.3 is where I would like to be, if I could get lower than that, it would allow for a period week!

You should also treat yourself sometimes, otherwise you will resent dieting. I find I am very good at dieting once I get started including my mental state. But keeping it off again, that's a totally different story!

Hey Senga,

How was your day? :)
You have definitely tempted me to measure more parts of my bod now! :) Didn't think about doing other parts, I will look forward to hopefully seeing results :)

Keep up your hard work over the weekend, your doing fab!
When is your weigh in day?

Just wanted to add to my diary that I am feeling really proud of myself at the moment :)
I thought if I came on here and wrote it down,on the bad days I can re-read and make myself feel better.
I have just completed phase 1 of the 9 week program on ea active 2 :) yay! 12 workouts completed.
I must admit tonight was tough in places but I pushed through with plenty of sweat at the end of it :) lol.

Hi,
I have my first weigh in tomorrow, doesn't mean that I haven't been checking my weight everyday though!
I went to the gym this morning and it felt great when I was done, then I went for a shop and avoided all temptations, choosing to try some new weightwatchers meals instead. It feels good to do well. We need to make sure we keep at it!
By the way, I looked into the EA active game and am considering it as a future purchase, looks like fun and available on the PS3, although I am sure my husband would love me stealing his toy!

Hey :),

Still going strong :)!
Well I have now entered Phase 2 into my EA Active 2 - 9 week programme, doing the First one last night, I feel really good that I have kept the exercise up even when like yesterday when I didn't feel as motivated.
I think I may have caught the exercise bug :), as on my rest days I really struggle to do not do exercise! lol, Never thought I would ever hear myself say that! :)
Looking forward to measuring myself next week and hopefully seeing some results from all my hard work :).
The Healthy eating has kind of turned a corner, this week I have been more hungry and have had some cravings but am trying to keep busy, Normally around this point it becomes too much like hard work for me and I slowly drift back into my bad ways but I am more determined than ever and I will get through this :).

I am thinking of joining the new weight watchers programme with my mum this weekend but I am worried this will have the opposite effect and make me feel more restricted in what I can eat. That just leads to a rocky road for me, I know I am watching my calories and eating more healthier options but nothing in my way says you can't eat that or if you eat this you only have so many points left etc. Really not sure what to do!
