NOT losing weight on Exante! Confused!

As the title says really! I don't understand why I am not losing weight! I did Cambridge a few years ago and lost weight so I know my body responds to these diets! And I was a lot smaller then!
Could it have anything to do with having a baby 16 weeks ago? I'm sticking with the diet but it seems pointless if I am not losing anything since the 1st week :( I expected big losses like on Cambridge, especially when I have at least 3 or 4 stone to lose this time!! Think I may have to go to calorie counting :sigh:

The only thing I can say to you is stick with it and eventually you will lose the weight ((hugs)) x x

Hun, dont beat yourself up...it's frustrating when you are trying hard and not loosing anything...it makes you think you could of just eaten for the whole week! but maybe give something else a try, maybe your body is clining on to all the weight in some sort of panic mode, if you have just had a baby your body is still recovering. I did exante for 2 weeks, first week 7lb loss 2nd 1/2 a pound! so this week i have started calorie counting- there is a really good group on here with peoples meal plans etc, i have been eating up to 1000 cals a day and have lost 3lb already :) and the best thing is i'm not hungry and i am so greatful to put food in my mouth! i am keeping my shakes etc in a box in my kitchen as a threat to myself if i slip up i will be back to liquid! maybe give it a try? x

Hi, had my baby 11 weeks ago today and it's working, realistically you can't fail to lose unless you weigh 1 stone you're not going to be able to survive on 600 calories, I'd stick with it and see what the long term goals are xx

Thanks for the support. I lost 7lbs the 1st week and have lost NOTHING for 2 weeks. I just do not get it. I thought it would actually be impossible not to lose weight on a vlcd but I haven't since the 1st week :(
I'm feeling sooo gutted :( I think i'm going to give myself a few weeks of calorie counting and then try again and see if makes a difference!

Mrsmoo stick at it. From what I have sen here on the forums and my own personal experience weeks 2 & 3 can be stupidly low weight loss weeks, after that they pick up again. I dont know why it is and I can tell you on my week two I lost virtually nothing. also your bosy will be all upside down with having the baby, sleeping, getting fluids, hormones, everything else ... at least you know you are getting all your vitamins and you need it now while you recover.

How long did it take you to lose 58lb? thats a lot of weight you have lost already.
Your body may well have hit a plateau, it happens to everyone sooner or later, and my plateau coincided with me going on exante. I lost the first week, then for 2 weeks nothing. Was horrible frustrating time.

Our bodies have a natural 'set point' weight wise, and when you go below that the body puts up a fight. It can take a couple weeks to reset that set point during which time you may stop losing weight. The important thing is to keep at it, because it will start moving again. I gave up on the exante as a 100% diet solution and went back to what had worked before, and the weight did start moving again, but im sure the same would have happened if i had stayed on exante. I actually love the shakes anyway, and they are still an important part of keeping my weight off.

The ticker is from 2008. I need to take it off!! (I did lose that extra 40lb on Cambridge before I fell preg)
I guess i'm just going to have to be patient with the diet and stick with it x

just a thought but could your scales need new batteries? mine messed me about and gave me different readings when the batteries go flat

Stick with it! I had my dd2 19 weeks ago and it's working.
It has to work, I think it's almost impossible not to. Try to up your intake of water and check your scales...maybe have a weigh in at boots.
Give it one more week! x

I'm sure it will even out later, on my 1st attempt at lighter life I put on 1lb on the 2nd week! After being 100%. I was devastated, week 3 I lost 2lbs then after that it evened out. On those 2 weeks of no loss though I did lose inches more than others so something must have been happening.
Stick with it, it will be worth it :)

Good luck!
