disappointed!

Hi guys, first weigh in on sw this morning. And have only lost 2.5lb. And this is not what i expected, i wanted atleast 5 which is what i lost on my previous diet with sw first week. Has anyone got any tips on speeding up weight loss?? X
 
Yes i think i will. I think my problem is i always feel so bloated, and dont drink vry much either. N thanks it is a great weightloss but was hopein for more as its my first week. X
 
Way back when I was a young'un ;) I would lose half a stone in the first week! As I've got older it's got more difficult and 2/3lb is about the norm.
You've done well. Be proud. :D
 
Yep iv been tld weight loss slow but im onli 24! And at 5ft 2 tippin the scales at 11st 7, i thought it wud b mre. A looss is a loss nt a gain xxx
 
I lost 3 my first week 4 second i was disapointed but then i thought it's a realistic amount to lose a week regularly, i mean people losing 8lb first week will want to be losing that again but probably won't, we have good chance of reaching and exceding first week week weight loss and won't get disheartened at not getting big losses every week also check you got it right as i didnt first 2/3 days was eating better but not 100% on plan
 
Hey Sherrie, fear ye not, 2.5lbs is great. I think it's a bit silly of SW and consultants to go on an on about the importance of the first week as it sets people up for disappointment when they don't loose a million lbs in their first week. 2.5lbs is a really good start and I'm sure you will do well again next week.

And I don't know if it's to do with age either as I'm 25 and I gained in my first week. My C checked my food diary and said it was fine but that maybe I wasn't eating enough... I think everyone is different... Stick at it!!!

Don't be dissapoint 2.5lb is a good loss :D I'm only 20 and on my first week on SW i only lost 2lb, so just keep at it :)

Hi I'm same height same starting weight as you but alot older lol! I only lost half pound first week :( then 2and half 2nd ;) it's slow but I'm happy not hungry and looking at it as a change of lifestyle rather than a diet !! Be happy
 
Hi there I joined Sw at beginning of jan I'm 27 5ft 2in and starting weight was 11st 6.5lbs!! I lost 4.5lbs in first week then only maintained in my second so I guess it all evens out?? Has anyone else had similar experience as was a little disappointed that didn't lose in second week got a couple more days to go til 3rd weigh in and being really good! Fingers crossed!
 
I'm also 5ft 2" i joined sw last July at 11st 5 pounds so far I've lost 1 stone. The weights not coming off as quick as I'd like but at least I'm losing. i have been on holiday last oct when I put 3 pounds on and had a Christmas gain of 3 pounds, so I'm glad I've still lost what I have.

I just think at least I'm not putting weight back on and If I had not kept with sw I'd be more like 12st 5 now.

My main tip is to keep changing things don't get stuck in the routine of eating the same meals week in week out and plan x

Hey I've just joined too n pretty much same stats, I'm 26, 11st 5.5, 5ft2, I'm happy to lose just a couple pounds each week SW actually makes senses cos as mentioned earlier it's mire a healthy lifestyle than a diet, and wow kelly-1984 that's really good I hope I lose a stone six months I'm really looking forward to not worry bout looking fat, being confident and new clothes!!

wohoo.. another from stourbridge.. that's 3 of us now... we'll rule the boards one day :)

normally the first week peoples diet goes from pre-processed crap with lots of salt and additives to fresh stuff with no added salt..
salt makes you retain water so you lose lots of water the first week..

If you've done the plan before it may be that you're already eating a bit healthy whereas the first time you went from junk to healthy so it was more of a change..
 
I only lost 1 pound in week 1!!
Then 2 pounds a week since. You might have a big loss next week.
One thing is to drink plenty of water, I know people always say it but I genuinely think it helps as you stop retaining water when you're well hydrated.
If we don't drink enough water our bodies hold on to it because it thinks water is in short supply. I have had a terrible week diet wise but have drank loads of water and still had a 2lb loss!!
 
Hey there weighed in 3rd week and lost 2.5 lbs so hit my half stone mark in three weeks! I definately agree with the idea about changing diet from salty Foods that retain water to fresh foods but it all balances out, my consultant said to look at the weight loss over a month rather than week by week!
 
2 and half lbs the first week is great. Please dont be disheartened! I also lost that amount and feel pleased with it. Keep going, you will get there, and well done!
