Back from WI - could cry!

Hey All,

Just back from 3rd WI, I lost .5lb :(

I know it is .5 off, not a gain and not a maintain.. but I have given it 100% this week, stayed within my syns, made an effort to ensure I have had some syns every day. Using my healthy extras etc.

I'm partially breastfeeding and my consultant recommended having an extra b option, I've been allowing myself an extra A as I am not fully breastfeeding.

I just feel so rubbish, I have lost 3lbs in 3 weeks and considering what I was eating pre SW and actually maintaining my weight... I am just baffled! There were a couple of days when I had very little to eat as I was just so busy and everyone at home ordered a huge meal from pizza hut (sob!) so I ended up just having a box of salad from the shops. I wonder if I am having enough. It felt like I was eating loads more when I last did SW.

Trying not to be hard on myself as baby is only 9 wks old so m body will still be returning to 'normal' but I am giving it my all, walking LOADS and just not getting the results.

Winge over ;o)

Hi there

If you haven't allready can I suggest you take your measurements as sometimes when the scales just refuse to reward your hard work, a loss of a few mm from somewhere may just bolster you up and show that you are doing fine ;)
Don't just do the bust, waist, hips, I do belly, thighs, calves, arms, the whole works -you will be amazed how much better it makes you feel -I measure once a month...
Keep at it, you are doing fine-your body has a lot to deal with right now with such a little bubba...

Some people find the weight losses are slow to start, while other's get off to a flying start, everyone is different and over time things all average out anyway, but the important thing is that the weight is coming off. At the rate you're losing weight, it works out to roughly 4 stone over a year. If you're enjoying what you eat, and feel healthy on the plan, then it's well worth carrying on.

As you've recently had a baby, your body is probably still adjusting to all the changes recently, so remember to bear that in mind too.

Hi hun
Your hormones are going to be all over the place!
Breastfeeding really should help the weight so if u can exclusively bf then do so as I was shifting 5lb a week on average!

Also sounds odd but tiredness can really hold the weight and if your baby is anything like mine was I would get 2 hours max a night in the beginning.
Try not be so hard on yourself.

Congratulations and keep going. Xxxx

Oh, mate. I know you know all the answers to this, but still feel your pain. We have all been utterly devastated by the results occasionally, especially when you did something heroic like turn down pizza.

I won't say all the stuff you know already about bloat and loss evening itself out and 'a loss is a loss' because I know at this moment in time you just don't want logic- you want to say "stuff it" and eat a tub of ice cream (or is that just me?)

Basically- here is a massive hug *massive hug* and reasurrance that you WILL do this- even if it was at a 1lb a week (which is quicker than I did it)- you would still get there

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

CAPRICORN - Thank you :) I just measured myself the other day, will def keep an eye on it!

Jen - Thanks :) I'm definitely carrying on :D I do love the plan and it has worked so well in the past. Fingers crossed I'll get some bigger losses soon.

Thanks for posting :) I did try to exclusively breastfeed, but she was constantly ravenous and I just couldn't keep up with her. I have 2 other children (5 and 3) and I was a total wreck trying to do it. I'm so pleased to still be able to give her anything, as it didn't work at all with my other 2. Wish it would have worked fully though!

cocktailprincess - Thanks lovely x In the great scheme of things, it is such a silly thing to get upset about. Really hope things return to normal soon, I was prepared for it to be slower this time, feels like i'm going backwards at mo tho! ;)

Ah I see. Normally the constant feeding is growth spurts and trying to up milk. (only saying this as being a Breastfeeding peer support worker I know) so dont beat yourself up. It wasn't your milk she was just growing and wanting more. Well done on bf it's hard I know. But oh so rewrding. X

I think you might be right when you say you aren't eating enough. A box of salad when you haven't eaten all day is certainly not sufficient. Use all your syns and all your allowed hex's and if that doesn't help, tinker a bit then!! You aren't just feeding you, so do need to make sure you have all the nutrients you need!!

I agree x there haas been many weeks when this is what has made me keep going x very good advice x

God, I am so impressed you're managing to keep to plan and refuse pizza while looking after a new baby! I can barely do it as a student with not much to do! I think you deserve a huge pat on the back.
Just go easy on yourself!
