I really enjoy SW and eat healthily all day and enjoy the routine of the diet, but after tea Im constantly looking for something else to eat I usually choose healthy things clementines apples Alpen light bars low fat crisps. It drives me mad when its good all day and the evening is a total letdown. As soon as I finish 1 thing Im looking for something else. Im ruining my own weightloss.Any Help would be appreciated. Thanx:DAlthought the choices are healthy they usually end up with me going over syns every day.

You're not ruining your hard work if that's what you're eating as it's all on plan?! Loads of us want to snack in the evenings, as long as you're making sensible choices it's not a problem!

You can eat any time of the day with SW. In the past I used to have dinner at 5pm then if I was hungry later it wasn't uncommon for me to have a jacket potato with beans or tinned spaghetti at 9pm and I always had good losses. Your metabolism still burns through the night so don't worry. As long as it's within plan then you'll be fine.

if you think about it, it's not suprising..
if you have your evening meal at say 6 pm, and then get up for work at 6 am, that's 12 hours with no food...
in the other 12 hours of the day you eat 3 times and have snacks..
even if your evening meal satisfies your hunger for 3 hours, that's still 9 hours where you're hungry..

I sometimes brush my teeth to stop myself snacking too much in the evening - It seems to make me think 'i'm ready for bed now, no more eating'.

I save my hxA (I have 42g low fat cheese) and my hxB hifi/ alpen light bars/ fibre plus and at about 8ish i have them with some fruit and maybe a yogurt I also stay sun free all day and have 5-8 syns at night time ( I never go over that as I like to have a good loss each week) :0) hope this helps xxx

Are you eating enough during the day?If you increase the size of your meals then you should feel satisfied for at least a couple of hours after tea. If you save a HEB then you could have cereal or toast for supper. If you make some free soup then you won't go over your syns.
Are you really hungry? Or is this dehydration because you don't drink enough which translates as hunger. Or is it just "appetite" which is different to hunger. Is this a pattern you followed before you started SW?
How about doing an exercise dvd instead. Once it gets light in the evenings you could go for a walk. There are loads of solutions, you just need to plan and everything will slot into place.

I have the same problem. Its due to boredom and old habits. My trick? Reading and having a nice cup of tea. I'm a voracious reader so I can forgo the tv and read for 4 hours at night. I sip tea and cozy myself in. If I fancy something sweet I eat a graham cracker or cut up an apple and dip it in toffee yogurt. Watching tv makes me want to eat. And I roam the kitchen. I try to pick things that don't give me the urge to have just a little more. Fruit doesn't do that. Some sweet carbs make me think "ok what should I eat next". But sitting infront of the tv is what sends me on the hunt for munchies!

I love the sound of the apple dipped into the yogurt. Makes it more of an *event*. We get a really nice apple and caramelised toffee yogurt so guess what I will be snacking on tonight.

I tend to make an orange/chocolate options drink and that really hits the spot and makes me feel full.

Normally I have a few syns left over by the evening because I know I am awful for this same problem (& did it on both Friday & Saturday last week!). Highlight hot choc tends to help with the chocolate cravings, especially if just before I have it, I fill up on free foods first (Yogurt & fruit normally).. Then I can trick my body into thinking that it's eaten some chocolate because I have a chocolatey taste & I'm full up. Lol

That probably makes me a giant freak.. But it tends to work more often than not :) Good luck x

I have the same problem. I am very good throughout the day and then between when i get home and have my dinner i stuff my face with anything and everything, doesnt have to be anything sweet. This is one of the things that i need to address.
