Vanessa's Maintenance blurb...

Dance the positive spin..
Hey folks

S'cuse me if I'm repeating myself here from my comments thus far on other threads .... but ... I'm an old on-off Lipotrim'r from summer 09 to Jan 10 (5st loss - woo hoo - I still get such a buzz from saying that lol).

Anyway despite maintaining for 9 months or so, i got into bad habits after an op in October. Wind on to half a stone up and my 40th and Xmas was a-looming so I decided not to worry about it till New Year; throw caution to the wind and become a slobbery, chocolate-addled piggy in the meantime, hence the second half stone (ooooh it was good at the time tho').

Moving onto 3 January ... I had 9 days LP shakes languishing in the cupboard so started them (-13lb). I'm now on Day 5 refeed and starting WW proper on Thursday - for maintenance really (tho another 3 pound drop would be nice)!

I'm gonna log today's food below just to help get into the habit, but not including pp as obviously not relevant till refeed is completed.

B: LP Maint Orange Creme
L: Baked pot; steamed chicken; peas
D: wm pitta, 2 slice ham and chicken, salad
S: WW yogurt and nectarine

Thursday can't come soon enough, I hate mixing shakes with food! Sooo looking forward to my oats so simple...

Looking great chick - looking forward to having another maintainer to 'our' board :)

Welcome a'board';) ... oats so simple IS good! ;) xx

Can I just ask what is oat so simple??

Good luck with rest of refeed xx

Instant porridge - easy to make, a few different flavours ;) xx

How is it made? It cant be quicker to make than normal porridge???

HaHa - no you're right ... it just means no weighing/measuring ... empty sachet into bowl, fill sachet with milk/water & empty in, stir & microwave :D xx

It's quicker because it has already been slightly processed. I opt for regular porridge with a spoon of bran and some dried fruit added. Bung it in a bowl with water in the microwave for 3 mins.

Jan you lazy thing ;)

Yup I just make mine in the micro - 3 mins and I'm done :) Munch!!

Oh but oatsosimple always tastes much better!!! :)

ERRRRRRRRM Excuse ME!!! Did I say I used it????????

;)

Well it HAS been known, but not at the mo ;) xx

:8855:ha ha porridgegate :)

Today's menu ... Ive pro-pointed it to get in the swing of it and eek, them maintenance products are scary pointage! However, seeing as we know they are extra low calorie and WW pp system doesnt count kcal in working out, its interesting to know it effectively provides a third of what the body presumably needs in a day [note positive spin to make it encouraging] lol. PS. as a point of interest - orange creme is 6pp and summer fruits 5pp.

B: LP Maint choc whip with skim milk (10pp); Banana (0pp)
L: medium baked sweet potato (4pp); steamed chicken (5pp); peas (0pp)
D: wm pitta (4pp); 2 slice Tesco HL ham (1pp); 2 slice Tesco HL roast chicken (1pp); mixed salad (0pp)
S: WW yogurt (1pp), nectarine (0pp)

Day 6 Refeed = 26pp

(never roasted sweet pot before - put in for 2 hours at 150% but it was cooked in 40mins lol. Had to do the 'how low can you go' on the oven ... probably be a shrivelled lump by 4pm!)

That's looking like a good start x

LOL re sweet pots :D - I love them, much prefer them to ordinary ones - but they DO cook much quicker ;) xx

On WW should I be weighing sweet pot and similar as raw or cooked..,?
Cheery muchly
Vx

I think the sweet pot must be weighed raw as in the shop book it says 'sweet potato 1 medium 150g 4pp' whereas it says 'potato, jacket (weighed when cooked) 1 medium 225g 8pp' - I always weigh them raw ... but good question! xx

PS. It also says 'Potato, boiled, 1 medium portion, 100g 2pp' and 'Potatoes, New, 1 medium portion 100g 2pp' confused now  xx
