Hi Everyone
I wasn't sure where to put this thread but thought it would be a good idea to share discussions & ideas of things which have been talked about at your Slimming World class each week.

We did the usual seeing how everyone has got on this week but also discussed about our favourite meals made this week & what we do to stop us feeling deprived.

What did you all talk about?

Last wednesday was my rejoin date and i stayed for image therapy. In the past i havnt usually done this, but last week i decided i wanted too. It was quite good, we also did the around the room how people did with their weightloss's, if anyone had any problems etc.

My leader then spoke about a sponsored walk for St Helena Hospice which would be happening in March i believe, either 7 miles or 14. We would raise money, choose to either walk 7 or 14 miles and use this exercise towards our weightloss/body magic.

I think talk of making t-shirts also with our SW group on for us to wear was a good idea too ;)

We may also be doing the midnight walk aswell.

We chatted about recipes and exercise

My consultant gave out 4 packets of scan/oat bran and the 'lucky' recipients 'volunteered' to make a scan bran recipe and bring in a taster for us next week.

Not sure if I'm happy or just apprehensive!!!

my consultant went throught the plan again to refresh are memories(and we had loads of new members). it really helped us all out and was great as we gave advice to the new members.

This week we talked about different healthy extras. The consultant asked how many people actually look through their food optimising book. Its surprising how many actually dont. I have mine with me all the time aswell as always looking on the website for ideas.

This week we passed round the plastic "two pounds of fat" that the consultants have to show us just how much we are losing. A bit gruesome, but educational!

we talked about syns in booze and how to keep track of your drinks when you are out.

Tips included getting a straw with your drinks, when the drink is finished shaking it out and putting it in your bag. When you get home count the straws.

Also talked about Burns night, syns in haggis.

Susperspeed foods and the consultant had drawn up a sample EE plate to show how much 1/3 really is, not just a wee bit on the plate!

We talked about having a treat night after WI! It surprised me how many members go straight to the chippy or have a takeaway after class on a Thursday!

Our consultant opened our eyes to just how many syns we are having and this could be potentially affecting our losses the following week.

I felt almost angelic as I go to my dance class straight from WI so not only am I not bingeing I am doing Body Magic too!!

Good topic - thanks Stacey!

We have one of those at class too, its amazing how much it actually looks. And I do wonder which part of my body it has been lost from when I lose 2lbs lol!

It does shock me too how many people have treat night after weigh in, I never do I go home and stick to plan and just stick within my syns. Usually a low syn bottle of beer :D

I also forgot to say our consultant showed us some pots of sauce from restaurants, I was shocked to find out those tiny pots of mayo are a whopping 9.5 syns! She then handed round Hellmann's extra light mayo which is only 0.5 syns per tablespoon!

Great thread :)
We discussed why people were "only losing a pound" and if people were honestly following all elements of the plan. Quite an eye opener!

Mine comments on any new foods she has discovered are free, or any recipies she tried etc and then she chatted about the new books and all the literature we can look through then she goes round doing the weight loss thingy...

=)

our consultant covered portion sizes. she brought in various bits like cheese and milk and got members of the class to pour out what they thought was a healthy extra's worth without weighing it. Then she weight it and proved that most of us that guess at our healthy extra are not accurate and having more that we should. A worthwile exercise to encourage us all to get the scales out more often and weigh quantities instead of guess them.

This is great. After almost 4 years, I still weigh out my cheese as I simply cannot guess 28g. I know people who don't even have scales so how they can follow the plans correctly I do not know!

This is such a good thread :D

I missed alot of class last night as I had work but our consultant set a challenge for one the members to replace their health extra b choice with the scan bran...be interesting to see what way that goes next week! :)
