A Few Q's Before I Begin

Hi everyone,

I am currently doing a VLCD (Exante working solutions) but i am starting SW on Tuesday 25th January.

Has anyone switched from a VLCD to SW and if so how much can i expect to gain in the first week and how long did it take for your body to adjust and start losing again?

My next question is, is it ok to do EE and then maybe 2 or 3 days on Red? Can i still lose doing it this way? I think i would need to do a few red days as i think too many carbs just bloat me.

I have been on a VLCD for so long now the thought of eating all that food scares me half to death!

Also can anyone tell me how much the food directory and the syns books are so i know how much money to take with me?

Thanks :)

There are quite a few people on here who have come from a VLCD successfully. It can take the body a few weeks to adjust to eating normally again particularly if you have not done a refeed. You just need to be aware that a gain is a possibility and accept that even it does happen you know the reason and that it will soon change.

And yes you can choose whatever plan you want to follow on a day to day basis.

The syn directory is about £7.50 but can't tell you about the others. Be aware that some consultants don't keep a stock of books on hand but order them when required, so you may have to wait a week or two for your books to come through.

Good luck!

Hiya
It's nice to know you are joining Slimming World :) Welcome!
I've never done the Exante plan so not sure how it works compared to Slimming World but it may take a couple of weeks for your body to adjust to the new plan.

Don't be afraid to eat though, that is the beauty of Slimming World. There are lots of free foods to enjoy.
As for the books, the syns directory is £7.50 but if you want to save money then you can use the Slimming World website instead for looking up syn values.

Other books I recommend are the Low syns snack book which is £1.95, also the free foods directory which is also £1.95. These are pocket size so great to just drop in your bag & take shopping with you.
I have just bought two new books too, Delicious food optimising days for red/green & the Extra Easy one too. These again are small little books and have some fantastic recipe/meal ideas inside. These cost £2.95 each.

Good luck joining and let us know how you get on.
If you are unsure of how much cash to take with you, you can also pay by cheque which I found easier on my first week.

Great, thanks so much for the replies. Probably best to just take my cheque book then :)

I know i will have a gain, i'm just making sure it will all even out again lol. It's hard to believe that we can have all that lovely food and yet still lose weight :D Can't wait to get started.

I've got a few of the cookbooks from eBay so will plan ahead and hope my body sorts itself out in a few weeks and rewards me with a loss.

Thanks again x
