My fear once i'm slim!

Right now I'm on day 2 and totally focused.
In 2004 I did LL, lost all my weight and didn't do maintenance. Was slim and smug! 7 years later here I am bigger than ever at 14st 2.. I know I'll get to my target, it's the keeping it off I'm worried about. I hope I've learned my lesson from last time!! I know I should take one step at a time and worry about keeping it off once it's off. But is it REALLY possible??? I lost touch with everyone from 7 years ago so don't know if they kept it off.
I know it will be tough but is it possible. ?Please someone tell me they've kept it off or at least most of it. As I didn't do maintenance I have no clue how helpful or vital it is.
Ps... I'm not a smug person at all. But I felt so good and so different that I lost focus completely, Never thought I'd be fat again.

I did LL 3 years ago. Lost all my weight felt great and didnt do management stage. On my restart I weighed 14st 2lb too- spooky or what?

I dont know anyone who has kept it off but I will definately do management this time x

Hey Tia

Lots and lots of people keep their weight off, and RTM is ABSOLUTELY the key to this. It is where you really do the learning, abstinence is the easy part, but you discover so much more about your food triggers and how you eat once you have done RTM. I lost 5 odd stone in 2009 and have kept the majority off, as has my sister, I have picked up a few kilograms, perhaps about a stone in that time, but I know when it happened and why it happend. It pushed me out of my weight comfort zone and thus I am doing a month of abstinence to shift those few lbs. I have however changed for the most part, my entire way of eating. SB (Slendablenda) on here and loads of others have also kept their weight off, and they all did RTM. It is such an important part of the programme, I cannot stress this enough... Good luck with your journey and do the RTM it does work, it is sustainable and you can keep the weight off.

Over 2 years later........

Hi Tia,
I did RTM and I KNOW I would not have kept the weight off without it. I also go back to the Maintenance Group every week. It helps keep me focussed and on track. I'm not obsessed by it. I see it rather like going to the gym If you go to the gym ,or learning tennis or how to play an instrument - if you don't keep it up you lose it.
Igive thanks every day for my Lighter Life. You CAN keep it off, but if you go back to doing what you used to do you will go back to square one. You have to re-evaluate your relationship with food then it will work.
Good luck. I look forward to seeing your success xx

I know how you feel, I did LL in 2008, lost 6 stone, completed RTM, went through a bad patch and ate my through it, LL is amazing, but I think that during CBT I focused so much on staying in abstinence that I didn't use the advice given for when I started to eat again, I put so much weight on I couldn't face the group, so, I've just registered with a new group and start on Saturday!!! I'm so excited, at least I know where I went wrong the last time!!!!
