Pepper in soups

Can anyone tell me if it is ok to add black pepper to soups if I'm doing Sole source?

Pepper is fine, but salt can cause fluid retention and is a no-no

Thanks a lot It's fine without extra salt but I'm just dying to add some black pepper! I'm pleasantly surprised how nice the Chicken and Mushroom soup is.

I had chicken and mushroom soup yesterday and really enjoyed it. I did add a bit of black pepper to my veg soup today to make it a bit tastier.

I haven't tried the veg one yet, will try that tomorrow I think. The only one I don't like the sound of is the cheese and broccoli, the others all sound tasty.

i loved the chick and mush and the veg and used black pepper in both

I use black pepper and chili powder in all my soups - couldn't drink them without.
