Hi
I wonder if anyone can help please. I'm on day 10 of lighterlife, lost 11.5 in the first 8 days. My friend is doing CD and i bought some bars off her and have 1 of those a day instead of LL bars as the LL ones are vile! do you think thats ok? the CD ones just taste sooooo much better. I'm not having any more cals but am now worried about it! any ideas anyone please x:confused:

You are actually having a few more calories I think, as the CD formulas are split into 3, not 4 like LL. Maybe a CDC can say if this is correct? Also on CD I was advised not to have bars in the first 2 weeks, as they may knock you out of ketosisi if you are sensitive- be careful and don't undo all your fantastic work so far!!

You could try making biscuits with the LL bars- I hated the lemon ones at first, but loved them made into biscuits in the microwave- there is a recipe sticky for this at the top of the forum.
Good luck (great weight loss so far!)

In theory in the old days when LL and CD were both 3 packs a day for girls this was ok but now you require 4 LL packs to 3 Cambridge so the balance of nutrients won't be corrrect.

Why not talk this over with your LLC and see what they can come up with?

I was under the impression that i would be allowed 4 bars a day on CD because I'm 5ft 10? On LL you are allowed bars in week 2. Perhaps i stick to shakes until my next weigh day? thanks all

thank you for all you advice, I'm going to pack the CD bars away until i've lost a bit more weight, it'll save me worrying.

Yes that is right, if you were on CD you would have 4 packs a day. Same as on LL but the 4 packs a day of CD do equal slightly more calories than those of LL I believe.

Personally, I found the LL shakes and bar a lot more tasteless than the CD ones. But I think that is the idea as it's the abstinence from food in conjunction with CBT that is the main part of LL :)

I used to just think of them as my medication that I needed to help me get better (thinner :D)

Hi Maz,
I considered LL. When I researched it i decided to go for CD because 1) It was sooo much cheaper - i didn't think the counselling was value for money (like £34 to be part of a group!). I reckoned that I could pay for 1:1 quality therapy for that price.
2) There was a widr range of flavours from CD.
That said - I'd advise sticking to one plan. My downfall in the past was mix and matching different diets. Joke was that I'd have unlimited meat from SW, treats from another etc etc. Slippery slope that !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have done both, and I will forever be grateful to LL for helping put my head into gear so to speak. I can't knock it at all, think it's a great diet.

The Group counselling is worth every single penny if you get a good counsellor and I was fortunate enough to have a brilliant one.

LL suits some and not others. Same as Cambridge. Both brilliant diets but offer different things in my opinion :)
