Hi all, can syns be saved for a special occasion, eg if I was off on anight out sat could I store some syns for food and drink. Thanx:wave_cry:

yes it's called flexi-syns...
you can have all 105 in one day if you want, but that leaves you with 0 for the rest of the week..
you can even go over, we're not the food police and you are a grown up..

Sorry coljack if that questioned seem immatue, It is just all new to me and I wanted to check, thank you though.

Is that really correct though?

I recall asking this when I joined group asking, for example can the whole week's syns (105) be "saved" for a night out drinking.

I was told that people do it but it is not recognised/recommended.

I was told "flexi-syns" were for those occasions when you're "caught out" or have an inpromptu meal so occasionally you are flexible and may increase your 15 to day 25 or 35 for just that occasion.

This is how it was explained to me, and I'm sure there are different interpretations of it.

Fortunately it doesn't affect my plan (teetotal wimp that I am) but I do like to learn at group of how people spend their syns and the "creative" counting lol.

My consultant said you have to have at least 5 syns a day, even if you are saving the rest for td weekend

I save syns for the weekend/special nights out all of the time and still lose. If I couldn't save them for such things I don't think I'd be able to stick to the programme as I'd feel like I was never allowed a night out without feeling like I'd "failed". I love that you can save your syns - it makes everything so much more flexible and allows you to have a life whilst losing weight :)

I had been told that you can flexisyn, but you can still have all your other syns on the other six days of the week and then for the day or night your out you set yourself a syn amount, anything up to a 100 and just stick to that amount and don't go over it.
That was the way it was explained to me anyway, not had to use it myself as yet.

It wasn't my intention to imply you were imature, and I appologise if it came across that way..:(
That's how our consultant explained it to us, but I see know that it doesn't translate well from saying it with a lighthearted smile, to being text on a screen...

Accepted

Thanx coljack,
I will admit I did feel pretty awful when I read your reply, (not to mention stupid) so it was lovely this morning when I read your reply before leaving for work, it can be difficult when not having class support. Thanx:D

It is more difficult without group support. That is why it helps so much coming here.

Don't ever feel stupid, because you are not. It is the intelligent thing to do to ask questions only the stupid wouldn't ask.

Often the written word comes over as being harsher than intended. I have been guilty of it myself. One doesn't have the inflection of tones of voice so it always looks like bald statements when in fact it is just someone caring enough to reply and trying to help.

You keep coming with your questions . I know when I started I asked all sorts of things as I have no group support and limited literature. I always got help and support.

Yes they can however it isn't recommended by SW. Loads of people do it, they save their syns for the weekend when they have a drink or a meal out etc and still lose no problem.

If you only go out occasionally though, you could flexisyn the evening, this is where you set a limit to your syns, say you want to use 50 syns, you count your syns and once you reach 50 you stop. You are then allowed to use you 105 syns as normal for the rest of the week. You may not have a loss for that week but you remain in control and stay on track :)

flexi syns is something that we are to use for special occasions when we decide how many syns we are going to need keep counting till u reach that point then knock it on the head that way we are still in control and dont feel we have blown the week and yes u can still have the rest of the syns that u will have on a normal day

Just wanted to say THANX for your lovely reply you have made me feel so much better, thanx:D

My pleasure Jinxter. No one on here would deliberatley hurt you.

hugs.

p.s. I love your username.

Yes, that was how it was explained to me. Minimum of 5 maximum of 15 per day and if going flexi, increase syns for that day only.

I guess it is all down to interpretation.

Jinxter, we're all here to help each other, advise, sometimes we debate, but never to hurt or discourage.

Someone very wise once told me the only stupid question is the one nobody asks!

Welcome aboard and I'm sure you'll be keeping us right before long:p

Steve
