Oh, SO confused!

LittleSausage

is not so little
Ok, so I had my first group yesterday and thought I understood what the Consultant was saying. Then I got home and started looking through the booklets and confusion has set in!
Firstly, I have tried looking up a particular yoghurt on the Syns Online and can't find it. Marks & Spencer Low Fat Natural Probiotic Yoghurt with Black Cherry Compote (I really like this for breakfast!)
Second, I have a "Super Green Soup" (also from M&S) that I bought before the meeting. It's really low cal, low fat, full of green veg and yet according to SW online, soups are not free, and one pot is 11 syns! Surely this isn't right?

Grateful for any help!

If your yoghurt is not listed online then you can enter the nutritional info into the syn calculator to find out the syn values. As it is only low fat yoghurt though if wouldn't qualify for a free food allowance so you can work it out using the 1 syn for every 20 calories guide

As for the soup - it is correct that they do not get a free food allowance so the syns for shop bought ones can be high. This may be due to hidden ingredients like oil or thickeners, but they can also be loaded with additives . Far better just to make your own soups - and a darnsight cheaper than M&S to boot

Thanks, Clare. I bought it before starting, so am not going to chuck it away. It seems that my lunch will all be synned, then! Probably not the best way to start, but the fat and carb content is low, fibre is high and it is FULL of veg. I usually make my own soup but this was convenient to pick up on my way to the office yesterday morning! Having it without anything else, too.
