It'd probably take a week locating different coupons and cutting them all out!

so? if you're a stay at home mom then you might have the time when the kidies are off at school or whatever..

I think i'd rather have a job and choose what i buy, rather than have to buy whatever there was a coupon for!

this lady gets $260 worth of groceries for about $6 with some extreme couponing... YouTube - Extreme Couponing - Joyce's Checkout
now why don't we get deals like that over here? :)

You do get deals like that. It is just knowing how to go about it.
My sister has lived on coupons for years. There are loads you can download and some of the supermarkets take them against any items so long as they sell the items the coupons are for.
If you want to have a go you can contact my sis and she will help you. She belongs to lot's of forums as well and they all keep each other informed of what is available.
Just PM me if you want sis's contact details. I know she would be delighted to help you.

My sister says it is a bit like having a job sourcing them. She has it pretty well worked out.

My sis. started doing this out of necessity. She was very low income. She has it off to a T now and lives very well.

No one is breaking the law or any rules shopping this way and the supermarkets not only get the face value of the coupon, they also get a handling fee.

Hi Fillymum!

I would love to get some tips about coupons if your sister wouldn't mind? We are on an economy drive this year and any little help would be great! Lol I'm not bothered about being one of those coupon women at the till lol!

Any news about the house? I read in one of your posts the Belgium were being a bit difficult!

Hi have just given Gill a quick call and she has said no prob. to contact her just head it " Sue's friend " or it might end up in the rubbish bin lol !!! Also said not to expect a reply today as she is off to Bristol to be in the audience of Deal or no Deal............ she certainly gets around my sis.

The Belgium's now want to wait until April to make up their minds. I have put the house on the market.........so if anyone wants a nice house in Spain, it is for sale cheap for a quick sale lol !!!!!

Will PM you with Gill's contact details.

Impressive!

One of the Asda's by me used to just take any coupon but then the other one never did and they got funny about coupons that were printed off.

It was a shame because I'd usually end up clipping about a tenners worth!

It seems to be the luck of the draw with where you go and whether they'll take them or not. :(

Many moons ago when me & OH first moved in together we always used coupons, in those days the supermarkets would accept the coupons even if you hadn't purchased the items. We would put the money saved in a little pot & buy something nice at the end of the year.:D

I don't know why I don't use coupons now as I'm also on a money saving exercise for this year (another nice holiday planned:D)

My dad discovered a flaw in sainsbury's till system. If you buy buy on get one free offers (or 3 for 2) it just deducts the amount for one from the till. If the products are reduced, it still deducts the full-cost for one item.

So if prawns are buy one get one free and are £3 at full price, and the prawns are then reduced to £1.50. If you buy two @ £1.50, the till will deduct £3 from your receipt, so essentially you get the prawns for nothing.

He got a bit carried away with this, especially when he found some items reduced to 50p each, (originally £2) and he realised that sainsbury's were paying him to take them away - Ketchup filled cod ball - they would HAVE to pay someone to take them away!!

Anyway, it was a few years ago, but I think the system might still be the same.

I don't think it is actually.

My Mum and I also cottoned on to this and I think they changed it about 2 years or so ago :(

Such a shame because it was AWESOME! hahaha

that happened to me in my local tesco express last week got 3 pizzas reduced to 50p each (not for me kids at them) if you bought 3 saved £2 i also bought other stuff but when i checked receipt i got pizzas free and they gave me back 50p bargain

I look for sites to get coupons for all the time, expecially if I am buying online and sometimes you can get free delivery on alot of things if you use a certain code.

I also join alot companies for thier offers, for example my daughter has a 6 month old kitten so I joined all the Whiskers, felix etc websites and not get money off vouchers I can print off and use.

As Tesco say...every little helps!

I'm a big fan of the reduced section at the supermarkets - esp Marks and Spencers!

yes I do have a hunt in the reduced sections now. My mum hovers over them waiting for the woman at Tesco to reduce the food. We got a pack of stewing steak the other day that should have been £6.52 reduced to 65p!

Don't forget to use a site like TopCashBack if you're buying on line :D You can save loads of money just by accessing the website you want via their links rather than directly. I've just claimed £78 back from them that I've accrued over the last 6 months or so! I have a referral link here if anyone would like to join up - it's free to join, there are no fees to pay and I get a bit of a bonus for anyone that joins via this link :p Cheeky I know but all this fresh fruit & veg is very expensive so every little helps! :D
