A little help?

FIRST POST :D

Hey guys I decided to sign up as I need a little advice and help on my weight loss. Last year during my summer holidays I started going to the gym to lose weight. I was a 38 waist and got down to a 32 in around 8-10 weeks give or take. I then stopped going for a few months as uni started back up and just got a little lazy. Put a few more pounds back on over xmas and I was planning to go back to the gym anyway. So yeah on the point,

I started back up and this is day 3. I go about 5 times a week for about an hour a day. In that hour I burn 1000+ calories which is of course great for an hour work out (I think so anyway?)

So basically I'm sorting out my diet. At the moment I have fully skimmed milk with cherios (yum) and eat a lot of chicken. I ate them last time along with wheetabix to change it up and lost that weight and back then I was only burning about 800 calories within about 2 hours (Shows how unhealthy I was compared to now).

So I also have white bread, Today I ate 6 slices LOL. I counted the calories and today I burnt off 1000 and have only eaten 800 or so. Will the white bread affect that? I'm a huge lover of bread but I also need some help on other foods I can have. I don't have the time to spend ages cooking and preparing so anything that can be got off the shelf is a good help. I'm in uni all day, then gym, then I have gigs and band practices so yeah, busy busy.

Anyway sorry for the long wall post, any help you can give would be really appreciated. In the past when I lost a lot of weight I ate what I listed including white bread (not 6 slices in one day though i, and i dont have that many everyday so dont worry haha).

Thanks guys!

Hi Aydan - nice to meet you :)

We're a friendly bunch here, full of friendly hints & advice (& if that fails, lots of support anyway :p).

I would recommend (depending on finances) having an easily prepared smoothie with added protein in the morning, a nice big also easily prepared salad with good protein & a bread roll at lunch & a low calorie/sodium/fat (ie Weight Watchers) microwave meal with a microwave steam bag of vegetables in the evenings.

This is just an example but something similar is perfect.

The white bread won't do you too much harm other than bloat providing you make sure it's a good quality bread & not full of salt!

The cereals you are eating have a fair amount of sugar in them - not good & won't be making you feel as good as you could feel. If you really want to have cereal then bran flakes, oats, all bran or homemade meusli is best.

I hope this has helped a little... just remember that the more natural something is, the better it is for you so it would stand to reason that WHOLEgrain bread would be better for you because it's unrefined unlike all white bread.

Good Luck & don't forget to keep us posted on your progress! :)

I agree with all chocolatecat said, but how about snacking on some fruit throughout the day may help or some chopped up carrots and low fat cheese, or even make your own hummus dip?

I would give the sugary cereals a mist and have something like eggs or porridge.

good luck x

Ok thanks for the help guys. The cereal I was eating didnt seem that bad to me since I was able to lose so much weight while having it last time. When in the gym I am really pushing my body though, burning over 1000 calories a day everyday while eating about 800 give or take.

I'll pickup some bran flakes instead for sure then and also look into some more healthier options. Right now I'm eating a lot of chicken and also some rice, wholemeal bread instead of white etc.

With what I'm doing now to when I lost my original weight this 'should' be a breeze. But I wanted to get some extra outside advice from others who know what they're doing :)
