so this is my first week on the new pro points diet and i am on 29 pp and i have stuck to that and not used any weekly points, but last night i really fancied a cream egg but i am afraid to use the weekly points. i feel if i start using them i will just mess up and start using them all then in the end just eat loads, any advice on this would be great!

I'm eagerly watching this as well as so far (4 days in) I haven't touched my weekly allowance and to be honest have been feeling full on what I have been eating. It seems a bit wrong to use them if I don't NEED them if that makes sense??

i used mine last night,,no way am i planning on using 49 tho,,my max is 35 and last night i used 24,,was worried this morn so weighed myself and i'm still the same,,think it's just a matter of getting used to the system.if on thursday i'm up weight then i wont use so much weekly's next week

IKWYM - I am a little scared to use them too, which is silly because I always used to eat all my points on the old plan, I did a sort of version of Wendie all the time, and I got to goal doing it that way, so surely using all the PP's and the extras is the same? We shall have to see. Going out tomorrow so will prob use some of them then. First WI on wed.

i think it's similar to the wendi plan as you have low points and then can break out and use the weekly's,i plan on using them once a week only and at least 2 full days before weigh in:)

I used 39/49 of mine this week and lost 4lb. I don't really use them to eat loads though, I use a few a day. A couple of biscuits, or a bit of grated cheese etc.

This shows my argument against the new plan.... People will automatically feel guilty for using the 49 TREAT points. People aren't as full on the 29 points because those 49 points have been made up of points that should be divided every day to give more points. They're just saving points for you, so don't feel as tho your cheating and having more than you should..... We need to have our nice little bits to keep us going or we'll all get fed up and give in..... You have a cream egg if you want one......lol
Sorry rant over.....

I have not been on ww for years but started the pro points plan last week. I like the idea of having the 49 points as I know that I can have my bottle of wine on a Saturday night without having to cut down during the day - which would then lead to me cheating!!

But I still seem to have odd treats and fit them into my daily allowance. This is where I'm getting confused!

Sarah Jane - I'm finding that I can fit in the odd treat during the day too without using my weekly allowance but I think that's because I am used to the old plan where fruit and veg had a points value.

I am also feeling guilty and don't want to use my weekly points, the way I see it they are my back up points IF i go off track tbh I'm on 38 pp atm anyhow and that seems to be loads.

will prob use my weekly points next sat though as it's my daughters sweet 16 birthday and we are having a party for her.

I will watch this thread eagerly await the overall feeling

The way I see it is that weekly points are there to stop the sod it affect. The one where you've got your day planned and someone brings along a cream cake, or you get asked to go for a drink in the evening and fancy a glass of wine, or you get a sudden craving for a bacon sarnie and you just have to have one and eaten all your daily points.

Knowing they are there means you are less likely to go into I've done it wrong, oh sod it, I'll have another cake now as I've gone wrong anyway.

You can lose weight eating them. I ate 103 points on Christmas. Day so made up with my weeklies and activity points and managed to lose 1.5lbs. They are there to be used, you just need to get your head round them.

I agree with every word there - and well done on your loss, fantastic!

For me it's all in the mind and the 49 points are definitely a way of me not thinking "oh b*gger it, I have ruined it now, what's the point" or they are there for of course the things like meals out and drinks - which again were all things in the past which I would fail on! They are "real living" points and I think it's hard at the start to get your head around but once you have, you do need them to make the plan easy to follow long term.

I love having the 49 points, for me it works very well psychologically.
As to losses, I use at least 40 of my points every week, and apart from a gain over Christmas (but I went completely off plan) I have had a minimum loss of a pound a week, anywhere up to 6pounds, and I am actually already below my goal weight :)
so ignore the guilt and have what you fancy!

I have to say it did mean that I just grabbed a baguette from the canteen as I didn't have time to heat up and then eat my soup. It obviously wasn't my "normal" lunch but it felt good knowing it was allowed.

I have to say i didn't really use many weekly points at first(about 15 max) but now i use about 30 + my activity points. Last week after having this many points i lost 4lbs, I have had one gain (0.5lb) and i think this was because i didn't eat enough. So now i make sure i have my weekly allowance, i still dont have all but i would if i wanted/needed them.
