Why do I completely lose my will power over the weekend! I hate it!

I am good all week and then I blow it over the weekend! I am so fed up and annoyed with myself! :(

Munched and drank my way through at least 55 syns last night! :copon:

Back on the wagon today ready for my weigh on Tuesday but I know I won't have lost anything and it will be all my own fault!!!

Thats my problem as well, i'm going to start by not having the things in the house to eat but so hard to resist, especially if i have a drink (not really a prob at second though being pregnant). x

awww dont be so hard on yourself!
i have to plan my weekends as i know i will eat things i shouldnt. for example i know today i will be at the mother in laws at some point so i will take a pasta snack (mug shot etc) in my bag so if i get peckish i can have that instead of cake!
we tend to have breakfast at my dads one day at the weekend and now my dad buys more eggs and tomatoes for me.
when it comes to the evening i make sure i have some fruit ready prepared or have some low syn snacks available. i find i need to have things prepared otherwise i dont eat during the day then in the evening im starving and binge.
good luck and stay positive x

What sort of thing is it that you munch your way through? and how can you plan to avoid this taking you over your syn allowance? You could save up the syns? 55 syns could be taken from your weekly allowance and then have less syns daily through the week? Are there low syn alternatives you can make or have around to distract you from the higher syn stuff? Weekends are hard I know as theres less routine and people around are eating and drinking things we want as well! Don't let it knock you off track completely though :)

I "treat" myself on weekends. Friday evenings i make sure I have a lovely steak and syn free chips with mushrooms onions etc. and Saturday evenings I make a lovely syn free chicken Korma with rice and syn free chips.
Saturday and Sunday morning i have a full english breakfast .
You can save up your syns for drink or choccies.

how do you do syn free korma?

there are syn free curry recipes but never a korma one.. it's the almonds and coconut milk etc that make it synfull..

Hiya Hun
Don't let one bad day ruin your whole week. What is it you struggle with at the weekend?
For me it was that we used to always have a takeaway & some beers so we kind of got into a routine of it.

Now I make us a meal which is takeaway style but sw friendly (so usually something like a homemade curry, chinese stirfry, pitta bread pizzas or homemade burgers & chips). I like to do this as still feel like im having a takeout but it's just sw friendly :)

Then I save my syns for a few drinks.

i'll find it coljack and post it - there are no almonds or coconut in it - just a blend of spices - and it is absolutely stunning flavour!

CHICKEN KORMA
Cooking time: 30 minutes Preparation & cooking time: 1 hour 30 minutes plus marinating time

4 x 113g/4oz chicken breasts, skinned and boned
284ml/½ pint very low fat natural yogurt
2 tsp turmeric
3 garlic cloves, crushed
2 large onions, sliced
426ml/¾ pint chicken stock made with Bovril
3 cardamom pods
1 x 2½cm/1in piece cinnamon stick
4 black peppercorns
4 cloves
1 tsp crushed coriander seeds
1 tbsp finely chopped root ginger
1 tsp ground cumin
½ tsp chilli powder
salt and ground black pepper
2 tbsp chopped fresh coriander leaves .

1. Slice the chicken and place in a bowl. Mix together the yogurt, turmeric and garlic and pour over the chicken. Cover and leave to marinate in the refrigerator or a cool place for at least 4 hours (or overnight).
2. Put the onion and chicken stock in a large, heavy saucepan. Cover the pan, bring to the boil and then boil for 10 minutes. Reduce the heat, uncover the pan and cook gently for 20 minutes, until the onion is tender, golden and syrupy.
3. Add all the spices to the pan, and cook for 3-4 minutes. Then add the chicken and the yogurt marinade. Cover the pan and simmer very gently over low heat for 45 minutes, until the chicken is cooked.
4. Season to taste with salt and pepper, and serve immediately with boiled rice (Free on Green or 2 Syns per 28g/1oz on Original), and sprinkled with fresh coriander

I hate weekends too - because I am at home just seem to keep nibbling - try to keep it within plan but a lot of weekends it's been over - and just about manage a pound off each week at class - I am a fool to myself because IF I stuck to plan as well as I do in the week I would be losing maybe 2lb's a week and would have already been at target.................

I don't know what the answer is, gotta be happy though that I am nearly 3 stones lighter this january than I was last January and the January before.

You need to look at this differently. You haven't blown it. You've simply had 55 syns in one night. So what you have up to 105 for the whole week.

I use my syns on a weekly basis & work back from 105, I had 44 on Friday on wine & chocs & 30 last night on wine & curry. That means I've still got 31 syns for the odd glass of wine until next WI.

If you know you're going to have extra syns at the weekend save them. And stop thinking you've no willpower. Instead tell yourself you have willpower & that is why you are saving syns for a lovely enjoyable weekend.;)
