I am a big baker, and I find them so easy, as you can put the bowl on the plate, and then keep re-setting the scales as you want to add new ingredients. There's lots of different measures on there too, so they really are brilliant.
Salter......measures in grams/kilos, ounces/pounds, mls/fl ounces
Cant remember how much it cost as I bought it a while ago, but certainly not expensive, roughly £20 I think
I have digital salter scales which were £10, I've seen some on offer in either asda or tesco the last few days too, but for bigger things a have an old traditional set of balancing scales which i love
I would have the non-digital ones - you know the type, brass weights and balancing. Two reasons, firstly, because the great Delia recommends them, secondly, they are traditional.
Only the prohibitive price, lack of a large kitchen and knowing where to find them has stopped me thus far
