Hello all,
Just been having a look to see how much more I need to lose.
And it looks like still a good 3 stone to go until I am in a helathy BMI.
Just wondered has anyone set a final goal which is above a healthy bmi cause if i get to 11 stone then i am sure i will look like a lollipop.

It is all a matter of personal preference. I'm 1lb away from 'healthy' bmi, but I still look very big. I'm short and curvy and think that I have about another stone before looking slim.
If you feel happy at 11 stone then it is the right weight for you. It all depends on your frame.
Good luck.

I'm the same. My BMI is healthy now but i am aiming to lose about another stone too, maybe 1.5 stones. I am only about 5ft2 and i am curvy too and i know i look good and healthy between 8-9 stones. So i am just going to see how i feel as i lose weight.

Well done on losing all the weight so far :)

Hi Peachy.

Although i want to have a healthy bmi, im am going to go according to what i look like (not that i am any where near goal yet lol lol). I used the bbc website to calculate my ideal bmi and the range is 3stone:eek:

Im 9stone 3lbs at the lower end and 12stone 3lbs at the higher end. For me personally once i get to a size 14 thats when i will stop.

Hi Peachy

You have to find a weight where you feel comfortable, and a weight that you feel you will be able to maintain.

In my opinion (and I am not an expert) I think the BMI tables should only be used as a guide to your target weight.

I think some people can get too obsessed by the numbers and keep going with their weightloss to achieve the lower end of so called normal weight.

Personally, i will be happy to get into size 12 clothes again, and when that time comes I will switch to maintenance to prevent any weight regain.

Good Luck

I have bones like a moo-cow- built for hard labour and child-bearing though I do neither- if I got to a 'healthy BMI' I think I would look like my skin is stretched over me. Remember BMI does not take size of frame into account, so if you have a heavy franme your healthy weight might be more than you think. there is a way of calculating this by meauring your wrist circumference, but I can't remember where I found it- somewhere on t'internet!

Still- I am hoping to reach a healthy BMI...but 26 or even 27 might be more realistic.
