I love couch to 5k. I am starting it properly in earnest once I'm back at uni and near a gym! HIIT training is definitely the most effective fat burner .

I've got it and am starting it next were when I'm back at the gym... Should be interesting. I'd love to get into running properly.

Thanks.
Mmm, now which one to get, there's about 3 apps, not sure which one to choose???
Would be great if I could get into running, always wanted to nut never managed it x

This will be my second attempt at completing C25K. I started it about 6 months ago and got through 5 weeks of it before I hit the "wall". However at that time, I wasn't focusing as much on eating healthy. Now that I am focused on diet AND exercise, I hope to see some big results.

The free podcasts are a perfect way to get started. Decent pace, good music...

good luck!

5weeks, that's good:)
I've got the c-5k now just need to start it, I hope I can really get into this.

It is excellent! I am not a runner at all, I prefer the x trainer anytime! However, I wanted to get into running outside. I thought how wonderful it would be to just go for a run, instead of having to drive to the gym, park etc.. I got quite far into it, but had terrible pains in my lower leg when I went into a run. I decided to give it a break and get back to the x trainer instead. I will restart it again though, once I have lost a bit more weight.

Andy,

Even though the program is designed to progress you onto a different level each week, as long as you go at your own pace your body will get comfortable with the workouts. I noticed around week 3 or so, that I wasn't fully prepared to move on to the week 4 workout, so I just went an additional week at 3 before moving on. By that time, I was more prepared to bring on the increased running.

It's all about motivation. The first week is really hard to keep yourself motivated, but once you get through two weeks of it and feel like your endurance is starting to grow, your motivation builds right along with it.

I'm just starting this! Want to learn to run this year. Am only done week one, have noticed already though that I'm finding the minute that little easier. Have you tried it yet x

Oh well done!:)
No I haven't started yet, I've now got the app and you have just given me the push I needed to start it, so will do first one tomorrow.
Good luck with week 2, let me know how you get on, be good if we were all running 5k by summer!:)))

It'll definitely help us with the weight loss and more importantly with keeping it off! Am sticking with week one for another bit as I'm still struggling with being able to breathe and run at the same time lol. Little steps though, well get there. Back out tomorrow you should give it a go. Maybe we should set up a street team on runkeeper pro so we can motivate each other and anyone else who wants to join in? X

Good luck! Let me know how you get on and remember to really stretch afterwards for about 5 mins at least xxx

I got to week 6 last year but i fell down steps in my garden and my ankle was knackered for ages. i was so gutted.
It has taken a long long time to heal, (since August) and i have just started it again. But i have found week 1 easier this time round then the first time i did it.
So good luck to every one attempting this and i am sure we will all be on week 9 soon.
x

Nice to hear that you enjoyed it so much that you're giving it another go! Well done. I look forward to us all being able to run for 30 minutes.

If anyone has the runkeeper app and wants to start a street team to motivate each other - i'm under user rkmriddell xxx

It's an app on the iPhone that tracks your runs via gps. Average speed, route etc. But you can have a street team online where it shares what you have done so we can all motivate each other x

i did it last yr and finished it,,but i hated it,,i hated running, every blooming step:) and my husband is a marathon runner and i really thought i'd like it but sadly no:(

Oh that's a shame - i hope i enjoy it. I don't suppose you can tell till you're over the OMG i'm dying after 50 seconds part LOL x
