Hi everybody.

My name is ann-marie and I like everybody else am determined this is MY YEAR to get my figure back to pre kids!! well actually just to lose any weight would be great. I will take it one day at a time. I have read through many posts over the past few days and everybody is really helpful and inspirational. I love reading the diaries and looking for recipe ideas. I think this time I have got the hang of SW. The first two attemps over the past year only seem to last a few days!!! and i just did not "get it".

I am just finishing day two of my first week and feeling very good about everything at the moment. I am not even craving my evening tipple of a few glasses of wine yet. May need some help though to make sure I dont succumb as with wine its better for me to have none at all rather than just one glass.

I appreciate any comments about my food diary.

Hello flower, tracked you down!
Your food diaries look good, but very low in syns - you can treat yourself on SW, that's the beauty of it!

Are you sure that an alpen light is 4.5 syns? I think they're only 3.5 syns each, but you can search that on this forum.

Have you joined a group or are you going it alone? I don't go to group and find that this forum is a godsend for finding syn values and Hex updates as some products change in time. As a rough guide, 20 calories = 1 syn so if in doubt, you can go on that.

Most of all, Minimins is an amazing place to get support - I would never have lost what I have so far without this site (even though I still have quite some way to go!) so feel free to ask questions whenever you need to, or just have a rant :)

Lastly, well done on sticking to plan for your first week and fingers crossed for a great loss on Monday :)

hi prawnchopsuey,

You look amazing!!! beautiful figure in that dress. Thank you so much for reading my diary and commenting. I really appreciate your help. I will go with what you say about syns for alpen lights - optimizing book was not specific just said cereal bars light.
I am going it alone. I did go to group for a few weeks (although I never actually did more than one day at 100% ) I did not really grasp it - that was last october. The group seemed really commercialised to me - so many people. Felt like a number not a name. My weigh in is going to be mondays - so this monday 10th my first weigh in!!! It has been really hard not popping on the scales every day - but am determined to just stick to the one weigh in a week. This site is brilliant. I dont think I would have got has far as I have if it were not for this site - even though I only on day six - the support is there 24/7. My biggest problem is going to be the vino - i am a heavy drinker but so far so good - not one drop in well nearly six nights!!! yeah so pleased with myself. I have noticed as well my mood is through the roof! I am so happy at the moment - not felt like that as long as I can remember - I must have been a really grumpy moo cow before lol!! my poor hubby!

Hi Ann-Marie, I am so glad you have started a diary have been seeing you all over the boards, in fact i asked you to start one in claire's diary

we too are doing it from home - one because i realy begrudge paying £10 a week to be weighed, our consultant doesn't let kids stay ... and your right the group are very impersonal and i felt the consultant had very little to offer, when i was on weight watchers a few years ago, our consultant used to send us good luck letters and motivational ones if you'd had a bad week

i love these boards they keep me on track, so make minimins your new wine!

your menus are lovely, low on syns but then so are mine often, i struggle with my heb and nearly always skip it

anyway good to have you her, donna x

:sign0151:I found you!!

Also think I am following Donna around the boards lol

Diary sounds great hun, I think Alpen lights are 3 syns! or 2 for a HEB.

I am going to attempt a slimming world quiche today, got some cottage cheese yesterday, got some lovely ham to go in it!

I have subscribed to your diary now so you can't get away :sign0151:

Claire xx

Hi donna - just realised you are donnajt - oops blonde moment!! To be honest I have not really got the hang of the syns things. I am tending to stick to the free stuff at the moment and then when I read other peoples diaries I see what they eat as a syn and kind of gradually bring that in. I have never tried - alpen light or laughing cow lights til this site! I will see what my weigh in is on Monday. My daughter already has a sticker lined up for me - "great at graphs" from her maths sticker book - bless her, thought is there.

hi claire,
Glad you not going to let me get away with anything - need you !! I made a delicious slimming world quiche the other day with butternut squash and celeriac roasted and onion and tomato. The butternut squash made it really gorgeous. It was sweet and tangy at the same time. highly recommend.

Should i put my weight loss on this board? Still a bit unsure how it all works - only just found out this is called a board!!
xx

Ann marie - bless your little girl, my daughter is neraly 11 and cuter, if i say oh i am going to have crisps she says oh no you are not have some grapes, but if she fancies something naughty, she'll say shall we share xxx

i would record your weight loss here - if you have a look at some of the other diaries, there will be a post saying lost xlbs or sts or gained 1lb etc, you can make them stand out by changing font size, colour or adding one of those little emoticon things, htp donna x

Your dinner looks great - I love pasta!
I hardly ever drink since starting SW, and to be honest don't miss it much. I'd much rather use my syns on chocolate or ice cream!! :)

always wanted a stalker, just tagged you in your diary

how do you subscribe to a thread?

LOL ! Subscribe to a thread - there is a button at the top of the thread saying something like 'thread tools' (I can't see it at the moment because I'm on a different screen). Click on that and at the bottom is an option 'subscribe to this thread'. You will then get notifications in your User CP and by email depending on what you set as your preference.

I am also subscribed now.....!!!!

Completely agree. I'd much rather eat mine than drink them (most of the time !!!). Loving the new profile pic :)

hiya all, hope you having a great weekend. Can anyone give me advise about using frylight? I dont like to use too much How much can you use of the stuff before you should syn it? Or can you really just spray away? My food still seems to burn a bit though.
xx

Hey hun!

I use fry light, you can use as much as you like apparently. I have the burning problem too. I find though with softening onions or leek to use a little water too. Actually you can use it with meat too, or a little stock.

I use the sunflower one, you can get olive oil ones too, maybe that one would be a bit better?

Hope you are having a nice Sunday xx
