TV Chefs - any favourites?

For me it's got to be Nigel Slater. I've never cooked a recipe of his and been disappointed. I also find his recipes really easy to alter to be slimming world friendly.

I've just been watching him and drooling at the screen (at the food, not nigel)!

I also like Nigella's recipes, but i'm not so keen on watching her on screen, there are only so many innuendo's and looking sultry at the camera I can take where food is involved!!

I like watching Gordon, he's a bit of a b@stard but entertaining all the same.

I like a bit of Gino! ;)

Heston did have a programme on channel 4, but I think it was weird and wonderful stuff he was doing for elaborate baquets and meals.

I remember one episode though where he made a fairytale gingerbread house and absolutely everything was edible, even the door mat, window frames and panes of 'glass'!

Gordon Ramsey for me. His food is so cook-able and so good. I saw him live 2 years ago at the BBC Good Food Exhibition. He was doing a cookery demonstration and I loved every minute of it. He was so funny and entertaining as well.

AWT is another I have a lot of time for. Now he really uses fresh seasonal food.

I agree about Nigella. She really gets on my nerves these days and I don't particularly like her short cut cooking. Strange really as one of my favourite cook books is Nigella Bites.

I like Simon Rimmer, who's on Something for the Weekend on Sunday mornings. His receipes just seem simple and achievable, yet nice.
Or maybe its just that at that time on a Sunday morning I'm usually hungry and thinking about what to eat.

Course the great thing about chefs that are on BBC shows is that you can search the BBC food website by chef if you like a particular one.

Jamie Oliver - the best TV cooking communicator ever, if what the thing's about is giving people the information they need to get busy producing reliably good food.

In terms of imparting real enthusiasm and love for first-rate grub, then obviously the late lamented Mr Floyd, whose joie de vivre and sense of delight in the pleasures of the table remains unmatched.

In terms of getting people really thinking about what they can do in the kitchen, it's Marco P-W, for the simple and repeated assertion that cooking is about a philosophy rather than a recipe: nothing truer!

Nigel Slater for his laid back style.
Anjum Anand for her fabulous curries! Multi-layered spices and I use the oil as HEB, SO much more authentic than the SW ones.
Ching He Huang for her Chinese recipes
I also love Reza Mahammad, Indian again! He's often on this morning.
Yotam Ottolenghi for fabulous salads made of unusual ingredients, sort of Middle East.
I used to like Jamie, but his meals in 30 mins take up to an hour and a half, and the only time I made one of his casseroles it was rank!
