Plodding on til its gone
Hi Im new here although I joined ages ago I didnt do anything about it. Ive done weight watchers and slimming world and have lost weight on both plans but now find myself with most of the weight back on and feel like crap that ive let myself get like this again.

I have pcos and depression and generally find losing weight really hard work as it comes off so slowly because of the pcos. I comfort eat and have been doing that alot in the last few months because theres so much going on at the moment and eat when im stressed or worried about stuff.

I dont really want to go to a weightloss group as they are so expensive. I hope to put the money to an exercise group instead and hope to join one next week at local leisure centre.

I need to get this weight off but cant do it on my own so hoping that this site will inspire me and hope some of you will be kind enough to offer some support on what is going to be a long journey. At the same time I would like to offer a helpful word of encouragement if anyone needs it.

I need to get back into my jeans and I need to get rid of this fat.

Not sure whether to start on weight watchers or slimming
world? Any suggestions on whats best?

I recently joined both but gave up on both so have both sets of books for each plan. I just need a kick up the butt and to stop using chocolate and crisps etc to help me to feel better because although it does at the time Ive realised tonight that its making me feel and look worse. I want to get exercising and hope that will make me feel better and lift my mood as apparantly its meant to.

Thank you for reading x

Welcome *Trying-again*:welcome:

We have a PCOS forum here...if you click on the link below it will take you there.

PCOS - MiniMins.com - Weight Loss Support Forum

Both Weight Watchers and Slimming World are very good weight loss plans and it is a personal preference as to which is the best...some of our members like to switch between them at times for a change, so don't feel you are stuck with doing one as you can always change your mind and back again...it is a woman's prerogative:D

They say twenty minutes of walking a day helps to lift the mood and is also good for toning up and helping to get fit...it is just a matter of getting into the habit, not easy in this cold weather just now.

Good luck with your weight loss journey and if you need any help be sure to ask:)

Which every plan you do, you know it will work, but don't try and do both at once - it just gets confusing and makes them impossible to follow!! With SW you have to forget what you do on WW and vice versa!

Good luck, if you're determined you know you can achieve this!

Hi trying hard!

you have taken the first step towards a better you, its easy to pretend that everything is ok, its hard to look at yourself with determination to do something.

You may be fat, but you wont be forever! with the right attitude and determination. When u feel it. Lacking come and have a look at some of the pictures on here, that motivated me so much to think I can do it!

and as the above post said, when you excercise you feel better! and look better too

If ww and sw were my choice i would go for sw as ww always seemed to be counting points and writing them down. But this is my opinion, you need to think about whats right for you.

Good luck, stay positive!

lisa

Hi thank you everyone for you replies and encouragement :) Ive decided to follow slimming world as it suits me a bit better and I dont have to get so obsessive with the writing down like you do on WW.

Im going to clear out all the naughty stuff left over from Christmas. Still got loads of crisps and unopened chocs etc. Ill put them in spare room and try and not be tempted but have a treat and syn it! Easier said than done maybe?

Ill have a look at the Pcos threads thank you.

Just need to get the sugar cravings under control, been using splenda in tea for the last few days again so hopefully gradually it will pay off.

Thanks again and look forward to being part of these forums as Im not going to a slimming group at the
mainly because of the expense so hope to get and give support and encouragement people on here in the same boat as me.

Hey TryingAgain,
Welcome to the forum. In five days you've made progress already - having made some important decisions.
I always found SW a bit confusing - but that's just me! Some of the results of the SW members on this board are truly inspirational and the SW discussions are generally really fun and useful. I often pop in just for a giggle! :D

Good Luck in everything you do - everyone is behind you and hopefully some of your other stresses will soon be behind you too - a thing of the past!

Thank u pigletville

To be honest Ive struggled the last 5 days and havnt really been following it until today. The weekends are definetly harder to follow the plan.

Im trying to organise myself with meal ideas but not finding any of it easy to focus on at the moment but at the same time cant carry on getting bigger and bigger and BIGGER so got to get my butt in gear.
Trouble is im all or nothing and it often leads me to give up as soon as I go wrong with the plan.

Good luck with your weight loss :)

Hi trying again. Good luck! Im also "trying again". I often diet for a couple of months, have some success then get distracted by a holiday or busy period at work then before I know it I'm heavier than I was to start with! 2011 is the year I stay focussed all year.

If I have any advice to offer it would be not to be so hard on yourself that you let a slip up lead to more. I too have a tendency to be all or nothing but something the SW leader said to me last time around helped. She reminded us that with each week we have 21 meals and so 21 chances to eat well. Just because we slipped up one or two meals doesn't make the whole week a disaster if we did well the rest of the time.

Hope to hear things are going well!

Hi Katkay

Thank you thats really helpful :) I`d never thought of the 21 meals a week thing before but think thats going to help me. I am really hard on myself, then I eat loads of stuff i shouldnt to make myself feel better but its just a short fix and now I have so much work to do to get all the weight off Ive put on.

I`ve put on about a stone just in the last 3 months or so purely from overeating because of stress and other stuff going on.

So glad I found this site everyone is really helpful and good to have aswell as give support when needed as I really cant do this on my own.
